With Goku being limited to SSG... I'd say SSR Trunks would mop the floor with him. Remember that SSB Goku and Vegeta were struggling with Black, and SSR put Trunks almost at that level (exceeding it with the spirit bomb buff), and SSB is supposed to be alot stronger than SSG. By that logic SSR puts Trunks way ahead of SSG Goku. SSB Goku vs SSR Trunks would be a more interesting case.
