Yeah Ryu doesn't have a way around Goku's power advantage and range advantage with the Power Pole and the Kamehameha having more range than the hadouken. Couple that with Nimbus's flight and Ryu doesn't really have a shot here. Only thing you could give him is that he's currently more skilled than Goku, and even that'll only last another two seasons tops.
