This is Akuma in his Oni form being used and the fight takes place on Gaea like in universe with Akuma knowing about the Vlitra Core.

Akuma is perfectly equal to the same Asura that destroyed Vlitra Core and has some tricks of his own. He can fly in space too, so che shouldn't have problems reaching Gaea's center. The problem comes later, as Asura had Yasha's support and while weaker than him, we don't know how the battle would have ended had he not been there. It is very well possible Asura would have lost without Yasha's help, and if that's the case, Oni would perish too.
