Alright. I don't know much about the AP difference, but I'm pretty sure Kratos has at least a slight advantage, even in their 3-A keys. I'm assuming they are in character. While Kratos isn't known to use his hax in character, neither is Dante, so Dante likely wouldn't rely on the Yamato. Dante does have attack reflection with Royal Guard, and given that speed is equalised this is a massive advantage since he's shown to be fully capable of royal blocking every attack that comes his way inflicted by characters of similar speeds. Honestly somewhat inconclusive on this one. If Kratos manages to get enough hits in, or if he chooses to eventually rely on his hax, he wins. If Kratos is unable to compare to Dante's royal guard, or if Dante chooses to use the Yamato at some point, Dante wins. Going with incon for now. Honestly, I think DMC5 Dante would make a better match. DMC5 Dante has attack reflection and durability negation like he does in DMC4, but he can't use both at the same time and he's also far more likely to attempt using durability negation in character.

Could you clarify? I'll admit, I'm definitely not the most reliable source when it comes to GoW. But I've heard several times on here that Kratos mainly just relies on his basic abilities, and canonically rarely actually uses his better gear.

This is a tough one. Both are incredibly powerful and have a big variety of hax. Dante not taking it seriously will piss off Kratos, which isn't a good thing. Both have similar resistances and hax, so I'm going to keep quiet until more is discussed.
