Introduction
This is just wrapping up some more changes that were missed in the initial thread.Changes
- Adding this to Castor and Pollux's Attack Potency description; "Superior to, and would make servants out of, the Redeemed Warriors declaring that they would become his servants regardless of who triumphs over the other"
- The current Universal Energy section of the God of War magic page is frankly, a mess. Overly bloated and goes into tangents (such as weapon empowerment) that are rather pointless to have. I propose to replace it with this new updated section that's simpler and gets directly to the relevant aspects of the energy system. Below is how it would now look;
Magic as a Universal Energy
All magical abilities draw from the same core source of power, be they standard elemental abilities or esoteric ones.- Magic is synonymous with life force/life energy[37], with the magic of a creature's body diminishing upon their death.[38] It is also referred to as the essence of a being.[39] All of Kratos's abilities draw from a general magical reservoir, which also corresponds to his lifeforce, as filling it heals him.[40]
- Magic itself can be used as an energy to create structures and a good example of this is the Furies. The Sisters create illusions that dissipate outwards from their bodies when they are knocked down hard or killed. The illusion is either sustained by them or Daemon, a construct composed of the same magic as the Furie use. That same Daemon can shoot energy blasts with the same magic used for illusions[14]. The illusions are physical as they warp reality itself[41].
- Magic being granted translates directly to restored stamina and reduces fatigue.[42] This is showcased again when the influx of magic into Kratos's body upon acquiring Cronos' Rage restores their stamina.[43] This applies to both mortal and godly users of magic, as godhood is one's magic and draining it away weakens a person physically as well.[37]
- A greater amount of magic within a being also leads to a proportional increase in physical attributes like strength and speed.[43] Shown especially well by Kratos in his use of the Blades of Chaos. Any creatures that he kills with the Blades have their life force absorbed and used to empower Kratos.[44] The empowerment from the Blades also increases speed proportionally.[38]
- Magic itself is the source of physical power, not any property that is innate to the body. Kratos himself confirms that his strength does not come from his body, and Mimir confirms that physique and strength are independent for gods.[6]
- The above applies for all pantheons, including the Nordic lands, seeing as runes connect all[45] within the Norse realms. Also showcased by the fact that Atreus's bow is effective solely because it uses magic[46].
- As already established, Runic Magic flows through the entirety of the Nine Realms and is drawn from their very makeup.[47] It is older than the entirety of the Nine Realms and existed in the Ginnungagap as a primordial essence[12] from which Ymir and everything else spawned.
- On top of all of this, when Kratos clarifies the origin of the primordial fire in his Blades, Surtr himself reminds us that the origin of primordial magic doesn't matter[48], and indeed, this same magic takes the place of Sinmara's heart to allow Surtr to become Ragnarok.
Removals
- "Nonduality (Type 2) (The Primordials are the personifications of the most fundamental aspects of reality,[9] predating them[6] due to having existed in the primordial realm of Chaos.[4] They are also responsible creating the entirety of the Greek World and all of its contents,[5] with one of them having created[6] the[3] universe[7] itself,[7] and as a result being independent of any of them. Said aspects include, space and time, life and death, darkness and light, dreams and the physical world and more)" This should go, it's a fairly outdated ability as far as the standards go and the Primordials are not independent of explicit logical negations.
- Hermes's AP justification scaling him above Persephone is erroneous, the latter unironically has a better case for scaling to top level gods and Titans than he does. It should just be something like; Low Complex Multiverse level (Fought against the Titans in the Great War[4]. Word of God reaffirms that the Primordials, Titans and the Olympians are generally on the same level as each other[28])
