I am currently doing a glass breaking calc, and I would like to know what the most commonly accepted glass breaking formulas are.
As far as I know, multiplying the volume in cm^3 by the destruction value of glass (3.5 J/cc) is something people have used before but
I would still like to make sure I'm doing the right thing.

Where did you get the destruction of glass value? I'm sure I could explain why it's wrong since I think most glass values are bunk.

Look at "Table of Destruction Values"

EDIT: Nevermind Glass' values are weird, it says 1000 J/cc but ik for a fact it's not that, https://vsbattles.com/threads/destr...is usually, accurate values for shear strength.

We only have pulverization values for normal glass and frag/v. frag values for ballistic glass.

No frag/v. frag values for glass anymore as those don't follow our standards. The 3.5 J/cc value was rejected.

Oh that's unfortunate, that then leads to the primary question of the post: What ways to calculate regular glass breaking feats are there?

None. Zero. Zilch.

Needs to use the same methodology we use for our other materials to maintain consistency. That calc uses fracture toughness, which we have rejected in the past and even have a rule saying not to change our destruction values for the foreseeable future.

Henceforth, any feat using normal glass stuff that isn't pulverization? Axed and forgotten.

Not even a value of 0.75 J/cm³ for frag and 1 J/cm³ for V.frag? There are calculations from John Wick that use this.

Could you explain why? After all, the calculations were accepted (even though that was 5-6 years ago...) and the values are low.
Old values were rejected as they didn't line up with our other destruction values or the methodology of how we obtain them, what with glass behaving differently to rock and metal and stuff. They no longer exist on our table of destruction values anymore.

Values being low is also not a good enough reason to keep old outdated calcs in use.
