With all the new lore about possibilities introduced in HSR 4.4, what do you guys think the difference is between the concept of possibilities in Genshin and HSR?
Note this contains some 7.0 readable leaks
Are they fundamentally the same, or do they work differently? For example, could the way one uses possibilities counter the other? Could Asad counter the Abyss, or vice versa? Could the Voyagers counter him, and vice versa ?
For context in genshin possibilities are described as such
Due to the abyss:
The essence of the Abyss lies in the hatred carried by all the fates that will not come to pass.
That is, until the fate of the cosmos was severed thread by thread
There, all light had vanished, and all possibility was spent. Even the finest motes of dust had drifted apart. There was no turning point, no miracle to be found.
At the very end of fate, all that remained was a void of utter chaos and darkness.
No matter how brilliant a world or civilization may be, it shall, in the end, fall to its destined ruin in despair.
Despite their knowledge that the darkness which erases existence itself was an inevitable end beyond all return,
However, should those branching paths of time that seem to hold endless possibilities be nothing more than a veil of ignorance leading to a single end,
why are we still driven by instinct and nature to explore every path in the labyrinth of fate?
Shadow domain made by the voyagers:
The Abyss is unable to corrupt the Shadow Domain realm made by the voyagers because it is filled with unobserved "possibilities" which repel the Abyss and stops it from corrupting it.
This film exists not only in the purely spatial and material planes, but also spans the boundaries of time and spirit.
But the price is that nothing stable exists here - nothing can attain a determinate form, nor can it truly be materialized.
Possibilities and fate in general:
That one thing should happen signifies that a different possibility has been eliminated.
However, some of the variables we added allowed a certain amount of these "unchosen fates" to come very, very close to reality.
Undifferentiated white light represents infinite possibility.
The reason why the Abyss continues to seep into this world remains unascertained, but I am certain it must relate to the Saint's original intent in creating the Shadow Domain.
I believe the Saint must have discovered this long ago. Perhaps he had even witnessed the end when the primordial light was exhausted - which is why he threw himself recklessly toward the last light.
Yet people, in their pursuit of a ‘determinate’ world, fixed it within a limited spectrum of color.
Thus, the light that had lost its purity cast the first shadow into the void.”
Time is circular. That is precisely why, when we anchor fate, the Abyss also anchors us at the end of time.”
