Yes, Irminsul originally wasn't work like this before the Heavenly Principles tweak it.

Which mean, not only did the Irminsul was refashioned by the Heavenly Principles to restore the informations from the past present and future, but also control/sustain the fate of the world or people besides just the constellations.
