General Godzilla Discussion

That one-shot references Jason Aaron's Punisher run, even making a note of saying that its events lead up to the Thor vs Godzilla comic. However, while I'd think that makes it a branch off from the 616 universe, there's no in-comic reference to wider events, so its scaling is reserved to itself.

That doesn’t really change anything for the Godzilla vs. Thor comic, since it isn’t considered canon to Earth-616.

It's a second one too since the one in KOTM is sealed up since the 90s
Not confirmed but most likely yeah. Otherwise it’d be breaking continuity (which this series has done as surprisingly good job of)
I was honestly expecting a bigger reveal, since they said it would be something unique.
Yeah, but we haven’t seen him in 7 years. And most other kaiju won’t mean anything to general audiences. Rodan has at least appeared in a modern Hollywood film, and is generally agreed to be one of the best parts.

Yeah, same here, I’m not disappointed or upset either, but when they teased a “huge reveal,” I was expecting something a bit bigger. I was honestly hoping for at least some hint of Supernova or something along those lines.

To be fair, that was the trades hyping it up. And they basically said that there’s stuff that will please Toho fans (Rodan) and stuff that changes the future of the franchise (introduction of time travel). Season 1 didn’t tie in to New Empire so I wasn’t really expecting Season 2 to do the same with Supernova. If anything, these series are nice pallet cleansers after the absolute insanity of the crossover films (not a complaint btw, and Monarch has its own brand of craziness as well. I just mean that Monarch is set in a world closer to our own, whereas the modern Monsterverse has The Hollow Earth as a major location, a society of Kongs, space monsters a
Planet eating Titan
and super futuristic technology (anti gravity vehicles, giant robots, cybernetic enhancements etc)

Yeah, that’s fair. The hype definitely set expectations a bit high. I also like that Monarch feels more grounded, it’s kind of a nice break from all the craziness in the movies.

Has the second season of Monarch added any new possible stat implications? I haven't been keeping up with the show.

Wouldn't say so. Titans can open rifts but we knew that. Honestly I very much doubt the rifts are 4-B or that anyone scales to them at all since Titan X opens one with a touch very casually.

That's the vile vortex which is 4-B, it isn't the same thing iirc. But the show shows us that Titans can make their own rifts, so I guess maybe it gives the titans spatial manipulation then

I'm gonna have to rewatch the first season cause I just think 4-B is way too much of an outlier in general. Considering we're not getting Supernova til next year I'd rather can the tier.

They seem to only open pre-made ones.

Youtube + what Ztes said. A friend posted a massive, coherent GIH debunk that can work equally fine with the wikia and a GIH wanker literally denied it as "downplay" without actually proving why.

When i also engaged him he did nothing to prove his arguments other than insult me like a 9 year old who just discovered the internet, and then he proceeded to run away from the "debate"

Are you referring to CitRusReality64’s blog?

We REALLY need to make a Discussion Rule on GiH atp
I don’t think it’s necessary. It’s been 11 years since GIH was published, and I’ve been keeping the comic’s scaling consistent. Usually it’s newer users trying to use illegitimate material to push upgrades, so adding a note on the IDW Verse page as a rule should be enough to prevent that.

I do not like GiH scaling. I feel lik it's reaching for things that aren't there and abusing every single possible way that it can use to wank the verse into oblivion. GiH is probably the worst example of Leading Questions rule and with several contradicting opinions from various authors it just gets insane.
I can see GiH at High 5-A, maybe possibly at Low 2-C, but anything higher? No.
The whole "Godzilla scales above the IDW multiverse because God Mountain is IDW God" just feels entirely wrong since no other author gave consent to that type of structure. Like I'd need explicit approval from IDW heads and such for that to be acceptable. There's also extrapolation with DND stuff and honestly it feels even weirder since...like, are the comics even canon to the setting?
Either way it feels like a weird mishmash of unconsentual crossover scaling and contradictory tweets.

The scaling also attracts the weirdest people. Like nobody tries getting what Ultima is all about with a bunch of people still somehow thinking he is 13 dimensional, but doing 10 crossover loops to get GiH to High 1-A? YEP, CAN DO!

I don't even get the arguments. Like, he is blatantly 1-A yet there is people out there saying he caps at High Hyper or that Toho is saying Heisei is the strongest Godzilla without any actual source.

Reading comperhension is down by insane amounts. We're genuienly gonna drown in people who're pretty much illiterate at some point. KOTM has weird ideas but from my interactions with him I know he can definitely read, I'd say his scaling comes from overreading into details instead. The problem is that the rest do not care to read or understand anything.

The 13D stuff comes from the 13 phases of the archetype which somehow got misinterpreted as archetype having 13 dimensions.

Yeah, most of the authors aren't reliable with their statements, and Moody has confirmed that comic is up to interpretation.

I think Low 2-C or 2-C GIH is fine as a highball, but anything higher than that is bad. Obviously, tier 2 GIH won't be ever accepted here.

All the scans you'll find about the "IDW Megaverse" is fake lmao. It doesn't exist. Even one writer confirmed it. If you reverse image search this image, you will not be able to find an official source, so IDW has never confirmed all their IP share a cosmology.
Either way it feels like a weird mishmash of unconsentual crossover scaling and contradictory tweets.
Crazy stuff

Man, Godzilla in Hell wankers are so funny. They are literally saying the blatantly fake scans aren't fakes
Godzilla In Hell Goji without fake or misinterpreted statements:

You know what weirdly would be an interesting fight if you used purely the material at hand and not any other piece of media they're in? Godzilla the God Butcher and Fusion Reborn Gogeta. They would be in relatively the same tier of power using only feats and statements from that comic and that movie respectively.
