FTL kinetic energy

so im wondering if it is allowed to use kinetic energy for objects that are faster than light (but meets most ke requirements) if we purposely lower their speed.
so for exemple, a 100 meter wide sphere of steel going at 3 times the speed of light, and the verse is already known to portray kinetic energy quite well, cant we juste lower the speed to like 99% c to get a value without breaking the formula ?
because i think lots of feats are ignored because of that

in this case the kinetic energy of the steel ball would be like multi continental (around 10^27 j)

i don't think u can just alter the values, if it's FTL, it's FTL
That makes alot of existing feat unscalable even tho they are portrayed as using some sort of movement-related force

Im not talking about objects moving at speeds that are stated, but if a calculation is done and we find a speed that is ftl, while the author very likely wanted to show the feat's strength through movement, it makes the feat totally unusable despite existing and showing the true strength of someone
I dont see any problems with purposely lowering the speed, even at just 70%

If it shows the KE right in that feat then FTL movement attack would make infinite energy as such it would cause destruction on that level.
All you can do it's calc the destruction caused by that feat if anything happened

the infinite energy is from the fact that we plug 1c or higher speed into the formula, im specifically saying that we can artifically lower the speed to like 0.99c for it to give a non wanked value representing the strength portrayed by the feat

You need to calc the destruction in those cases lower the value won't work

No, we can't.

Literally on the page explaining about KE it says that we cannot reduce the speed of an FTL feat

You cant calc a feat that dosnt exist. You dont make up a feat to calc. You shoudnt headcanon a otherwise canon feat to get a desired values. All that applies when you arbitrary decide on a value that contradicts what actually happens in the story.

Thats a resounding no from me.
