Frieza's powers and abilities?

Why is he listed as being a master martial artist when he (at least pre RoF) has never trained in his life. Purely using his pure power and strength to beat down enemies. I can see Post RoF being listed as at least a decent martial artist with 4 months training or higher but pre RoF in no way should have martial arts skill.

Martial Arts is defined as different techniques of attacking and self-defense, with the purpose of physical and/or spiritual self-improvement. Frieza is not a fully master of it until ROF, but he should be able to phisically defend himself since he fought with notable foes such as King Cold and Goku so that ability remains for him.

He has basic hand to hand knowledge and is capable of using his abilities in combat. He hasn't trained in a specific style like Goku but he can fight with said beings that do have that skill.

Master is likely a strong word, so I'd suggest Skilled Fighter instead of Master Martial Artist.

I believe he's also stated to be a naturally talented fighter, even if not necessarily formally trained, so that implies there's at least some modicum of skill involved

Well, if we go by the attacks he uses, the guy clearly has a fighting style that's sophisticated enough to incorporate attacks with an amount of skill and control that was enough to compete with Goku. I wouldn't say he mastered martial arts, but he definitely has an amount of intuition and talent that allows him to compete with trained fighters.

Headbutts, elbows, kicks. Anyone can use them— Naruto for example. His style is very brawler-esque, making use of every part of his body with little control, finesse, or accuracy. Frieza is different though. He demonstrates control in his movements— not a wild flailing like Naruto. They both demonstrate intelligence when fighting, even if their hand to hand is simple. So, I would say that they deserve Master, only because of their understanding of techniques and ability to respond over the complexity of their styles.

Cooler profile says the he is more skilled in martial arts than Frieza, through they both were trained by King Cold. I think its because Cooler likely travelled himself in battle alongside his squad in planets and assisted them when needed as shown in the Movie, which is the total opposite of what Frieza does.

Then, might I ask what we define as a "Master Martial Artist"? If fighting against masters with enough skill and knowledge to push them doesn't push you into their tier, even without experience and academic knowledge and study, the whole thing is pointless, imo.
