Final Fantasy 16 discussion thread

How are the blogs progressing? From what I can understand, there doesn't seem to be any DLC in the pipeline (unplanned or otherwise) but it was interesting re-reading the lore, that a prosperous world without magic was forshadowed all the way back when Cid first brought Clive to the Hideaway in the deadlands, saying the world only needs to remember how to live without magic/aether (or something on those lines), I'm not saying it's thought provoking writing or anything but subtle nods here or there like that, ultimately makes the story complete without the need for DLC.

Still wished we could fully play as Jill and Torgal with Cid, Joshua, Dion etc being the revolving guest party member, yes yes Clive is a badass burning chad with all the Mega-Man like Eikonic abilities but geez a FF game without actual true party members just makes the gameplay feel incomplete to me (plus if Clive's base weapon will always be a sword at least other party members would've given other cool weapon classes some shine, such as Polearms, Greatswords, Rapiers, etc).

Yeah as much as I loved FF16 it's lack of a proper party system was pretty ass, would've loved to use everyone else in gameplay besides them being mildly helpful as support NPCs

Late but I agree with everything.
Should be noted that titan lost is weaker than Odin and bahamut just due to the fact that it took Clive 3 fights to eventually defeat Barnabus. Odin is also more than likely the strongest Eikon base to base.

anything that scales to bahamut should be bare minimum relativistic for obvious reasons, and anything above should be FTL.

I would also like to point out Barnabas never fully transforms, Odin himself barely appears in the game, it's almost always Barnabas Clive and co are fighting, with the possible implication being Odin's real strength was never used

I don’t agree with this at all. Barnabus fully transformed many times throughout against Phoenix, Bahamut, and ifrit and is shown to be going all out against Clive in their final fight. He should still be the strongest eikon at base tho.

I meant in boss fights but that wasn't clear, my bad

He does for a slight period during his final fight with Clive but it lasts like 30 seconds. That was a missed opportunity imo, would have loved to have a full eikon fight with Odin. But the main point is we do get to see him go all out.

Name of the form is escaping me atm)
Its called his Fenrirc Form which is basically just him imbued with the same "sorcerous" strength as ancestor fenrir.

Basically he primes like a dominant

Alright finished and published my Ganondorf profile, now I can start cooking with my favorite gay dragoon again.

Also the ultimania for the game came out today in japan, haven't heard anything to crazy yet but apparently it revealed Barnabas is 72 years old lmao
At the time of his death? or during his first introduction? regardless Odin being a grandpa with mommy issues is surprisingly on brand...

Yeah I don't recall a single instance of anyone using time stop in the game.

Unless you count that whited out filter that happens and everyone stops moving while Ultima speaks to Clive (Like right after he absorbed Garudas powers from Benedikas for example), but I'm not sure if that should be time stop or if it's just a cool little effect the developers did.
