Feats in Non-Canon Movies

Should we also consider feats in non-canon movies where the author is heavily involved? I mean the story in the movies may not be canon but the characters feats should be taken as what the author thinks they can do. Im talking about in examples like Road to Ninja for Naruto or The most recent One Piece Movie.

But only if the author is heavily involved.

One could even argue because it's non-canon, that the author does not even accept that interpretation of the character anyways tho.
