Here's the "
Light Speed Criteria", lets see if Sting's "Laser" falls under any of the needed aspects to prove Light-Speed.
- The beam refracts in a new material, such as a liquid or...
- The beam diffuses in a reasonably realistic way or reflects off a material that it can be expected to, such as a non-magical mirror.
- The beam is called lightspeed by reliable sources.
- It is stated to be composed/consisting of photons or light itself, again by a reliable source.
- It has its origin at a realistic source of light, such as a camera.
1: Sting's "Laser" has never refracted off of anything within the series so he doesn't fall under that aspect of the criteria.
2: Sting's "Laser"
diffuses through explosions, which is inherently antithetical to what light actually is given
Light doesn't have Mass behind it to create KE (I.E Explosions)
3: Sting's "Laser" is never stated to move at the Speed of Light by anyone within the series, much less by reliable sources.
4: Sting's "Laser" is never stated to be comprised of Photons or is "Light" itself, its actually implied the opposite since Sting doesn't consume/create "Light"
but rather he consumes/creates "White" as the "White" Dragon Slayer so his attacks are strongly implied to be not comprised of Photons nor are "Light" itself given those statements.
5: Sting's "Laser" doesn't come from a "realistic source of light" since his magic isn't a realistic source of light as i explained previously.
So Sting's "Laser" doesn't fall under any of the categories to prove its Light-Speed, Now let us go onto the other aspect of this Criteria which is used as a guideline to prove if the supposed thing being argued for Light-Speed isn't actually Light-Speed.
- It is shown at different speeds in the same material.
- It is tangible and can be interacted with physically by normal humans.
- They do not travel in straight lines (unless you can prove refraction/reflection, see above.)
1: Sting's "Laser" is entirely depending on the level/strength of his magic and he has never faced anyone who possessed refractable material before like Glass or Water so the first part of this criteria doesn't pertain to Sting's "Laser".
2: Sting's "Laser" can be interacted by Mard Geer but Mard Geer isn't a normal human so this doesn't prove nor disprove your assertion.
3: Sting's "Laser" don't always travel in a straight line,
It can bend and curve through Sting moving his neck/head in a vertical or horizontal direction so this is another knock against Sting's "Laser" being actual Light-Speed.
So going through all of the quantification's you need to mostly have, Sting's "Laser" doesn't fall under any so i vehemently disagree with Sting's "Laser" moving at the speed of Light and Mard Geer being FTL because of it.
