A thread that's been on my mind for a while.
Basically, there are a lot of characters spammed in vs. threads, for one reason or another and to varying degrees, but I feel like users should know the character behind these objects of spam, be they good, bad or whatever. There's more to these characters than just being OP.
Take my example, Darth Nihilus. TL;DR, he's broken, yes, but he's also incredibly tragic, interesting, and puts a spin on the "Destroy! DESTROY!" villain. To give more background:
Nihilus initially began as a human living during the chaotic and dangerous time of the Mandalorian Wars. During these, he lost everything, his friends, his family, and his own will to live.
After the devastation of Malachor V, he was filled with such pain, such indescribable emptiness, that it literally ate away at him in body and soul, causing him to become a Wound in the Force. He then discovered he had the ability to "feed" off of living beings to satiate his newfound "hunger", and consumed one of the other survivors subconsciously. It felt revolting, it felt horrifying, but for a brief, euphoric instant, his hunger had subsided, before returning even worse than before.
Thus, with the arrival of Darth Traya, he was christened Darth Nihilus, the Lord of Hunger. Desperately seeking to satiate this hunger, even though the satisfaction of each feeding lasted shorter every time, this obsession became his existence. He sees life as meaningless frivolity, for this unbearable and omnipresent hunger has consumed everything he used to be.
For now, the man who lost everything was gone. Now, there is only the hunger, and the galaxy is his buffet.
They don't have to be this long, but I hope the gist is understood.
Now, fire away.
