In Smash, are Spirits limited in any way so that only so many can be applied at one time? Or only a certain few sets are active at once?

Fighters can have 1 primary spirit and up to 3 supporting spirits
I assume every spirit in the game is an option for Duck Hunt, & any spirit can be a Primary or Supporting Spirit?

Also, Buneary's profile mentions IQ Skills. Are those still valid for it?

Anyway, behaviour....

I'd assume Duck Hunt fights as it normally does in Smash, with some variance depending on Spirits, but I'm still unsure about the nuances of those.

Lopunny:
"An extremely cautious Pokémon. It cloaks its body with its fluffy ear fur when it senses danger."
"It is very conscious of its looks and never fails to groom its ears. It runs with sprightly jumps."
"The ears appear to be delicate. If they are touched roughly, it kicks with its graceful legs."
"Extremely cautious, it quickly bounds off when it senses danger."
"It’s notably wary and has a dislike of fighting, but at the same time, it can deliver powerful kicks with its lithe legs."
"Lopunny is constantly monitoring its surroundings. If danger approaches, this Pokémon responds with superdestructive kicks."
"Its fur is warm and yet remarkably light. This Pokémon kicks as though it were a master of karate, driving back its opponents with ease."

& assuming the behaviour of its pre-evolution, Buneary, is relevant:
"It slams foes by sharply uncoiling its rolled ears. It stings enough to make a grown-up cry in pain."
"When it senses danger, it perks up its ears. On cold nights, it sleeps with its head tucked into its fur."
"Its ears are always rolled up. They can be forcefully extended to shatter even a large boulder."
"You can tell how it feels by the way it rolls its ears. When it’s scared, both ears are rolled up."
"The reason it keeps one ear rolled up is so it can launch a swift counterattack if it’s attacked by an enemy."
"If both of Buneary’s ears are rolled up, something is wrong with its body or mind. It’s a sure sign the Pokémon is in need of care."
"My hypothesis as to why Buneary rolls up its ears is that its hearing is far too keen. I surmise that the Pokémon protects its hearing by limiting the sound that may enter its ears."

So in summary, Buneary always has 1 ear rolled up (Or both, which can be considered a "sure sign" it "is in need of care".), perks its ears when sensing danger, & keeping an ear rolled up is so it can launch a "swift counterattack"; Buneary's method of attack is slamming foes by "sharply uncoiling"/"forcefully extending" its rolled ears.
Supposedly, Buneary may keep its ears rolled up because its hearing is too keen, so the ear-rolling protects its hearing by limiting the sound that enters its ears.

Lopunny, meanwhile is apparently very cautious, wary, constantly monitoring its surroundings, dislikes fighting, & will quickly bound off if it senses danger. It moves with sprightly jumps.
Lopunny fights "as though it were a master of karate, driving back its opponents with ease." (According to Laventon.), using "superdestructive" kicks.
It is noted to be conscious of its looks, routinely grooms its ears, & it's noted that if its ears are touched roughly, it will kick.

IIRC, SBA doesn't permit participants to retreat so as to lose the match unless forced to.
So yeah, assuming things go normally, Duck Hunt probably makes the first attack, at the very least because of range. Between gunshots with questionably substantial projectiles, clay pigeons, & explosives, & how big Lopunny's ears, it's probably likely that SOMETHING hits & messes up Lopunny's ears sooner or later, prompting it to hop over & start kicking Duck Hunt's tail-ends.

Trouble is, Duck Hunt is from Smash; Something aggressively approaching to hit it with a bunch of kicks is an EVERYDAY experience for a Smash Bros character.

IDK how skilled Duck Hunt is supposed to be. It may be a Smash Trophy fighter, but the most I know of on its profile is:

Intelligence: Above Average (Can keep up with talented fighters)

For what its worth, Duck Hunt might be slightly outskilled if Lopunny truly "kicks as though it were a master of karate" as Laventon says, especially if it lets it hop into close range, where its projectiles may be less effective. (Also, while Duck Hunt can somewhat control Trick Shot's explosive can's trajectory & timing of detonation, IIRC, attacks from others can move the can to less favorable positions. Unsure if it can harm Duck Hunt.)

There's a plethora of moves Lopunny gets access to, but if it's going to go for kicks most likely, its likely moves include Jump Kick, High Jump Kick, Double Kick, maybe Bounce, & maybe the Egg Move Low Kick.
& if we consider ear unrolling slams, because of Buneary's characterization, Pound, & maybe the Egg Move Double Hit might be relevant?

None of Lopunny's abilities are relevant other than Cute Charm a presumably very small percent of the time. In gameplay, 50% Lopunny is the opposite gender, 30% chance of activation when the foe hits Lopunny with an attack that makes direct contact, 50% chance of Infatuation triggering.
A 7.5% chance, or 1 in 13.33~.

There are a lot of other moves Lopunny could use, but I'm unsure how IC they are.

Anyone else wanna weigh on in here?
