Does the destruction of a higher dimensional realm also means destruction of all the lower dimensional realms ? For example a character destroys a 5D universe does that also mean destruction of everything below ?

No. Destroying the universe wouldn't destroy flatland.

Think about dimensions as less of a hierarchy and more of a building. Destroying the roof of a building won't kill people at the bottom. That's as simple as I could make it. Except in this case, each floor has rocket boosters on each corner that lets them suspend themselves even if the lower floors are destroyed...
