I wouldn't call him inexperienced in any manner. He has been in this business for at least 5 years in universe and has fought against some really skilled individuals in his time. Even in his first days, he was fighting hydra goons and whatnot who has professional training.

This isn't 1610 Miles, this is 616 Miles, who has already been a member of S.H.I.E.L.D., Champions, Avengers, Ultimates, Spider-Army and much more, while having insanely varied fighting experienced and having constant mentoring from both Cap and Spider-Man, and hasn't made a single relevant tactical mistake in years.
