Not sure if this is good matchup, I haven't made any VS threads in a while and just watched Far From Home so I kinda want to give Mysterio some matchup.

Midoriya's best bet is that his shockwaves can disrupt the drones long enough to let him get one decent hit.

Beck still likely takes this because the illusion creation and danmaku, while still being easy to disrupt from the air, can probably overwhelm Deku by sheer number while Mysterio himself uses evasive manuevers to move away from the battlefield.

I don't reckon there's a need for it. The drones are far weaker physically than Spider-Man, and the weakest object to cause harm to it was MJ's strike with the pike. Melee weapons like that are 9-C mostly, except for rare exception when they get 9-B AP in the hands of a capable wielder, which Michelle clearly isn't.

High Hypersonic and 8-C have always seemed questionable to me in the context of the MCU, given the strong contrast with "normal people" characters that are capable of harming 8-C characters.
And what about the training of Mysterio. In "Away from home" he had enough information about Peter and Spider, and the support of a whole team of professionals.
I don't think it will be so easy to build an illusion against Decu in such a time.

Three-day prep time is more than enough time. Mysterio created illusions for Peter in at least 12hrs (Beck finds out that MJ and Peter found a projector from their drones at night or at dawn and they fought at a time with broad daylight).

Needless to say, Mysterio always had a whole team of professionals as assistants, who adjusted and programmed everything. Also, I didn't see that this team would support him in the battle, so his options are limited.
