Default assumption for continent

Imagine there's a feat or statement of something like "he can destroy a continent" or "he destroyed a continent", and we don't know how it looks. Do people here just use Australia as a default assumption for calcs? Because I think using Australia because its smaller is absurd, nobody thinks of australia when they say continent, they usually mean like europe or america or asia

Pretty sure this site follows the logic of "If you're not sure, go with baselike as the safest option." Keeps people from complaining and turning it into a situation like this.

"Character A has feats and calcs putting them above baseline continental."/"Character B has statements about how he can destroy a continent. He's stronger than Character A because we assumed they meant a large continent instead of going with baseline."

Usually the site goes for lowballs, so it would probably still be australia, even if the average joe doesn't think it is a continent, hell i remember there was a calc that used australia for it because of this

no the site goes off what's the most likely assumption, if it was low end then no one would be above subsonic

What does subsonic have to do with this? If this is something about feats where the character seem to teleport and such, there are several other variables and usually feats at play, plus i doubt mach 5 and upward feats can be low ended as subsonic in anyway unless the feat itself is iffy

How is that comparable to using the world's smallest continent as a lowball, especially when your logic is based on assumpting what others think? We literally use the minimal height for mountains on calcs, not "small" mountain height, minimal

There is no most likely option here, though. None of the continents is larger than the others.
Under those circumstances we go with the lowest option that can't be disproven. So yeah, Oceania.

As Thelastmlg said, it would be really unfair to rank a character for no evidence at all possibly higher than a character from which we actually know which continent was meant.
