Death manipulation, type 9 immortality

From what i know, immortality is how resistant to death a character is, and for type 9 immortal characters they are: Characters whose true selves exist independently from the plane where they can be killed. Does this mean their true selves are still bound by death? And would transcending the concept of death put them on a higher form of immortality.

It really shouldn't be that way, unless death is a form of destruction, I imagine death as the end, regardless of what it is.
the end of something even if it is something that exists beyond death (the false concept) and the true concept would be destruction

Does this mean their true selves are still bound by death
Essentially yes. We cannot assume they aren't.

And would transcending the concept of death put them on a higher form of immortality
That would likely be resistance to death hax - or maybe 5. But honestly, I think transcending death itself should grant a form of immortality if it's own.

Like Thanos' death transcendance doesn't really fit in either. Which is a bit annoying
