Dandadan Discussion Thread

Ah, now that I think about it, if the chart’s actually right, the scaling’s a total mess again. So many questions pop up, like:
  • If the 8-B comes from Mongolian Death Worm, then anyone with lower attack power shouldn’t even be scaling to 8-B.
  • And then there’s the new calc that puts something at Low 7-B, which is higher than basically the whole verse’s old numbers.
  • Plus all the talk about multipliers—24×, 100×, 240×, all that.
  • If a character doesn’t scale to the Worm’s Low 7-B, what do they even scale from, 8-C?
  • How the heck can Okarun go toe-to-toe with Evil Eye when Evil Eye’s AP is way above even Dover Demon’s 24× form? The gap’s huge, they shouldn’t be trading blows—yet Okarun somehow does.
  • And why’s giant-form Vamola’s attack power so low when she’s got some of the biggest AP feats in the whole series, like she should be top-tier.
  • And then there’s the durability thing too—Dover Demon’s durability stat isn’t even that high, yet it tanks hits from the 100× guys, which means the others should be able to tank them too. Same with Aira—she tanked a 240× hit, so anyone with higher durability than her should be able to tank it as well, right?
I feel like we’ve got a mountain of stuff to sort out… I hate Dandadan scaling. a lot of it just doesn’t add up, so maybe we shouldn’t rely on it at all—or better yet, just drop it entirely. Either that, or separate things out and calc each feat individually, only scaling a few specific characters. There’s a whole bunch of other stuff too.

chart are the ratings supposed to even be linear though to begin with because it doesn't look like they are so they'd just downscale an unknown amount for certain shit or upscale a certain amount, something like those would be supplementary but it shouldn't 100% determine all scaling. Should just be used for a general basis with context and scaling from the story being the direct justifications. That said I'm very behind on dandadan so I can't speak on things rn

Yeah, I get that, but the problem is when it comes down to the details—we’ve gotta figure out what to keep and what to cut, what actually makes sense and what doesn’t.

If we’re gonna use the chart, we should at least check whether it lines up with the feats in the story. For example:
  • Turbo Granny’s Attack Power is supposed to be one of the highest, but for some reason it’s WAY lower than Evil Eye’s.
We need to talk about the stuff that doesn’t make sense in the context of the story first, then decide what we’re actually gonna go with.
 
There is a reason charts are mostly unused. Take MHA's analysis book. Magne is like one point below Muscular which makes zero sense as Muscular is on par with All Might while Magne doesn't even have physical powers.
 
Also I have questions about Reiko's status as the strongest.

The reason given by Momo is that Seiko can't beat Reiko Kashima. But she can't beat Evil Eye either who is considered a Mountain god by TG.

Not to mention that Seiko herself is said to be Virtually Invincible in Kamigoe city so that's a clash as Reiko is in Kamigoe too.

And then there is TG. Forever looking down on everyone and everything.

Evil Eye isn’t actually that strong. The only reason it seemed powerful was because of Jiji as its vessel. Even Seiko couldn’t do what she did with Turbo Granny, because her goal was to save Jiji, if she’d tried that, Jiji might’ve gotten hurt instead. I believe Evil Eye wouldn’t have survived if it had gone through what Turbo Granny did. It all depends on how many talismans Seiko used, she never used that many on Evil Eye.

The latest chapter makes me want to climb on the tallest structure near me and scream out of frustration.

Okarun is the master of self sabotage (relatable). Boy can talk a parking ticket into death penalty with that level of fumbling. Instead of talking like they are familiar and being straight forward with her, he stalks her, refuses to tell his name and grosses her out.

Kinta being a creep again but gets immediately punished for it.

Aira I love you but you are being a total ***** right now. Yes I recognise the game, she is using the situation to her advantage. Up until now her flirting with Okarun was a gag that just irritated Momo. Now it is a genuine threat to her feelings and Okarun is no were near as assertive as he needs to be in this situation.

Oh great CSG is here and she can't even see the supernatural.

I get why Ken is acting the way he does. He doesn't want to unitentionally manipulate Momo, but it's backfiring on him because Momo now feels left out.

Momo is in the exact worst position she could be in when meeting Count Saint-Germain again. Luckily, he said before that he wants to befriend the crew; unfortunately, I have no idea what he could be planning with that (and Momo can't defend herself anymore).
 
even though i was really not feeling the beginning of the amnesia plotline, i think the way its been handled has been pretty refreshing and well handled. although i do think the inclusion of the usual comedic gimmicks with kinta and aira really makes me downright despise them both the way they try to manipulate momos memory loss, kinta more than aira, like when i saw kinta trying to convince momo shes in love with him i died inside

i really like how chill jiji has been though, and getting okaruns thoughts is really heartwarming.

Yeah but he is practically doing everything he should not do. Like medically advised not to do.

Creeping her out, making himself look like a untrust worthy person while also acting awkward which further creates doubt of them being friends. Withholding information and causing confusion. It's basically like rubbing vinegar on a wound.

It is literally medically advised to be direct, precise and detailed with past events to make amensia patient recover with proof like Photographs and objects. Like the Maid Cafe Photo he has. Or the nanoskin in her house. Sure she can't see their ghost forms but she can still see Jiji's ki blast or atleast the real world damage it does.

Although a smart play here is that Momo's lack of a phone means that she never got any proof of being with Okarun on herself. If she had her phone all they needed would be photos and chat history and call history. Plus they would be moving far faster.

He is also wayyy too lenient with Aira's bs. Even if Momo didn't have a memory loss, Okarun just let's Aira rub all over himself, no boundaries whatsoever. He told Vamola a sharp No when she couldn't even understand human language but won't have a VERY needed serious talk with Aira.

If Momo even with memories leaves his ass for that, I won't blame her because there is being polite and then there is his bs which borders on a affair which he is encouraging by his lack of boundaries.

I thought with the of the chapter before before we would see a confident Ken finally out of his awkward shy self. Nope still the self sabotaging doomer.

I just want this arc to be over asap.

Miko and Muko never miss. No bs, or skirting around the facts. They straight up tell her he is her boo and sends them on a date so they can talk privately without a certain pink haired B-I-T-C-H messing things up.

Okarun finally balling and said his feels out loud.

And the Serpos brought their entire force down ho lee ***. We have never fought against them in a group of more than 5 and now it's a damn army.

I wonder if the whistle will come into play.

Slow ? It kinda has been dead here ever since season 2 ended. Second mostly did everything here.
 
Well they need to redo those necro upgrade CRTs and stuff still anyways but nothing has been done there nor has any work been done for indexing profiles with updated stuff, ik I can't im busy elsewhere consistently and dandadan is like 50th on the list of series I need to get through for indexing backlog
 
Vamola in full support. It seems we are getting a date chapter soon.

I like how much time we are spending just with Okarun and Momo. It's been ages.
 
Yeah we got baited. I am really really gonna hate it if this shit stretches on and this ends with the average Shonen ending of a confession and The END. Because it's feeling like so more and more.
 
Checked out the wiki pages after finally getting caught up on the manga today, just to see the verse still gets blitzed by my car on the highway 😭
 
Dandadan doesn't have much interest from the staff so despite a MHS+ speed calc and a mountain level AP calc hanging for a upgrade, there are no changes.

We need CRT to first get rid of the 100 kmph cap. Then decide who scales to Jiji and Zuma's beam and Evil Eye's kick and update those profiles. Not to mention profiles for new characters like the Typhoon Cryptid.
 
It might also be worth it to get some more keys for the dandagang.
like a space globalists key that uses one of the many big destruction feats from that arc

We have way to many feats above 100kmph to justify the cap. I believe 100kmph works for Travel speed as Turbo Granny explicitly says it's the power to "Run" anywhere at 100kmph. But we keep combat speed as separate.

It's not really that complicated of a solution.
 
I’ve finished boot camp. Now I’m allowed to give opinions on things and do some CRT stuff, but I still can’t do calculations or make new profiles because I’m in a military camp. I do have more free time than before though
