Not really in character + Kurama breaks him out.

Altough even assuming it couldn't, it's not like it's hitting Naruto. Even Juubito could sense Sasuke building up chakra in his eye and Naruto with the same sensory abilities (if not better) couldn't sense Jigens rods. BM Naruto can. So not only should Naruto know to avoid eye contact but he should also know when exactly it's the most dangerous.

if we talking about post nerf of both, pretty sure Sasuke take this again because he really not losing anything without rinnegan. especially if Sasuke have his TBV he have no onscreen fight with Code. but he did put a good fight to even take Code eyes(ironically it's the left eyes)
