Magneato has superior range and ammunition as opposed by coles better direct damage and versatility. Ultimately coles only chance of winning is if he immediately rushed mags before he put any distance between them.

Magnets lose their charge at high temperatures, I can only imagine what effect extreme heat will do to Mags ability to manipulate metal.

And Cole only has to be near an object to drain, and can fight and drain at the same time.
