Chess Discussion

Yeah it was a truly repulsive act. We don't know if the full details yet but this deserves a permanent ban from chess if it comes out that he really punched this innocent woman simply because he lost a match. Choosing to let your anger out on an innocent bystander is disturbing in every sense of the word. I feel sorry for his parents who had to scramble to his defense and of course the videographer. I pray he finds what he needs because Chess clearly isn't it.
 
All imma say is some people are so good at it that having a board and peices at all to play is "optional"

actually its not that hard, i played mental chess on purpose to practice short term memory and there's been a massive improvement for me in that department
I basically just need to read all the study material once before the exam now to get a perfect score

Yeah, everyone can play mental chess. It's just hard to do it good. A good way to practice is playing blindfolded.

For reference guys, I'm referring to a specific move out of a specific game, take for example when on move 23, as a response to Rc5, Frank Marshall played Qg6 sacrificing his queen against Levitsky forcing him to resign. The move was so beautiful that people started throwing gold coins at the board, which now gives it the nickname "the gold coin game."

Just to make sure, are you referring to the move where he denies a draw repetition? No problem with that, I'd just say they move is more "important" than "brilliant."
I doubt you would have nominated it, had it been some random game in the candidates or isle of man.
