I never really thought Fake Chainsaw Man was stronger than Fear-Noosted Pochita at any point. We already had a conversation about the logistics of both scenes where Pochita was caught off guard and Fake Chainsaw Man was prepared. I also believe that actually having the Fire Devil inside you is extremely notable, which justifies his chainsaws being that strong. I don’t really see an issue with the chainsaws being stronger than him by an absurd degree either. Sure, it feels weird, but I actually agree with you.I get it, but counterpoint: Fakesaw being stronger than a Fear-Boosted Pochita would be really, really dumb.
And you can't just wave it off as only the chainsaws being absurdly strong like a Spear Man moment; Fakesaw outright took less knockback than Pochita did upon changing the Bang's trajectory, despite being weak according to Denji. And a hole-punched Pochita should still be leagues stronger than Hybrid Denji.
Chainsaws have been stronger than one's physicals, but not by absurdly huge degrees. One of Pochita's outright broke from Makima's 4 Bangs while his body was injured, and they also got dusted with the rest of him against the Gun Goddess. And Denji's performances- namely getting turned into a burnt nugget against Reze- also show a similar relationship. There's no reason why Fakesaw's saws should be literally hundreds of thousands of times tougher than the rest of him.
Give it a rest dude. Mountain level's already pushing my comfort zone tbh.
The real issue is that Fake Chainsaw Man deflected the same attack that knocked back a weakened Pochita. Why is he that strong? We don’t know. Is he Primal level? Probably because of the Fire Devil, which seems to affect the power of his chainsaws. It all ties together and kind of makes sense. I get that it’s weird that only his chainsaws are affected, but that’s just how Fujimoto chose to portray it.
Just know that I’m not disagreeing with you here. I don’t like jumping random characters to Primal levels either. However, I want things to make sense and not be confusing, which is why I’m not dismissing the feat entirely. Later on I want everything in the story to tie in and make sense. Call it OCD if you will.
Is it just me or isn’t that basically the same thing? If not Yoru's bang having the more powerful destructive showings. Regardless, as I mentioned above, Fake Saw actually parried the same attack that was thrown at Pochita. We don’t need to get into a debate about size and potency if that’s already been demonstrated.Creating a huge hole in a building and creating a not-so-deep crater on the road still is a gap beyond just the simple gap in shot size, I feel.
Also looking back, it's really funny how Makima's Bang erased Power's torso and cratered the wall begind her, but Yoru's Bang just became neutralized upon blowing up the Chainsaw-Zombies who jumped in front of Twinsaw.
Also, remember, we can only assume how much she can minimize it based on what we've seen. The smallest instance was the one used on Pochita, where it only covered a small area on his torso.
