Chainsaw Man discussion thread

No shit

Sadly, it's sometimes impossible to avoid it in this fandom
I usually read leaks just so I don't get spoiled and clearly spoiler tag my stuff so I don't spoil others but man, one statement in the latest chapter and maybe 2 people actually spoiler tagged their stuff, everyone else was just posting images and freely talking about it.

"My character soundman can reach mach 1 speeds, that's very fast and he's the fastest speedster in the verse"
next chapter: Soundman vs Lightman, Soundman surpasses the [speed of light?!?]
To Shounen authors, breaking the sound barrier is just a lil bit less impressive than reaching the speed of light. 100km/h is probably about the speed of sound too.

And this is a big problem I have with these kind of feats, that they're supposed to be some crazy stuff but authors keeps throwing them out inconsistently, it makes the feats less impactful and makes reading "damn he blew the planet up" less impressive than seeing a character cutting a building in half. This ain't even a powerscaling problem, but a huge narrative problem that I really damn hate.

How my block list on twitter has been looking recently

😭 😭 I'm sorry that happened
What's your opinion on this though, I'm curious
I believe that some scenes within animanga are meant to be taken more seriously in parallel to real world issues and impact. Others may feel indifferent toward my view, but that is just how I personally feel. As for why I had to block the individual who posted it, is because he was already an avid hater of the series who would mock the animators and its fans. I believe he was doing this out of spite after viewing his profile, likely as revenge for unhinged CSM fans sending him death threats. However, there is a certain way you should go about handling things. He probably knew this sensitive scene would spark flames in the fandom and start a civil war, even between other fandoms, through the "I hate CSM fans for posting this" meta. It also drives my TL into chaos, which I cannot be bothered with and it can attract very bad people who will say very bad things.

In conclusion, stay away from controversy on social media.

I don't know if it's just me, but I have been getting fed up with people not even complaining, but outright hating on the story and being generally impatient all over my TL. It's one thing when someone brings constructive criticism, most of which I do agree with. I have seen complaints about Part 2 chapters being too quick of a read, which I also agree with. They feel short lived and it would help if they were extended a bit more. This has been an issue for me since 2023 during the Church arc. Do you all remember the constant biweekly chapters we were getting with incredibly weak nothing burgers? It felt overwhelming. While it is not the same situation currently with Part 2, since we are in pretty hype times with new things to look forward to, I am still on the edge of my seat, uncomfortably so and just need like a page or two more to settle my needs.

However, whenever I open Twitter, aside from the crack theories and people actually discussing the chapter, the ones that keep appearing on my TL are the "Part 2 is mid, Part 1 is better" types. They diss the series with every new chapter, with absolutely nothing good to say about it or the fans. I generally get fed up and go to their profiles to prepare to block them. I do a quick scan of their perceptions, what they post about and so on. Most of the time, not one good word is ever uttered from these accounts, just hate. It is so annoying that I have them on my TL every week and it's honestly upsetting.
I just find it annoying that people on my TL who lack patience are constantly cooking the series, talking about Fujimoto doing nothing when the story is still ongoing and you should have no idea what to expect.

Unrelated but damn r/overlord is by far the worst anime reddit on reddit. It's posts are 95% Ai slop porrr no of the caracters and repost.
The remaining is random questions that were already answered and the very very rare chapter upload.

very random, but i expect nothing less from the overlord fandom

Enjoyable chapter tbh, I can see this arc being really good once finished and I have the chance to binge read, but I also do see the criticisms of the chapters feeling like they're going nowhere especially for this one, but it seems like the fight is actually coming to a close and some new development will happen
