Canonicity of crossover when item from crossover reappears in series

If an item within a series first appeared within a crossover but ends up reappearing in the main series, would that count as sufficient evidence that the crossover is canon? If not, then what additional information would be necessary to show the crossover is canon to the series?

No, the Jimmy Timmy Power Hour. In it, Jimmy has a mini-laser, which is the first appearance of the mini-laser, and the mini-laser ends up reappearing in Win, Lose and Kaboom! What I'm wondering is if this is sufficient evidence to prove a crossover is canon or not, and if not, what evidence would be necessary for it to be canon.

The crossovers page says "Take note that crossovers should preferably be referenced within the separate story settings themselves at some point in order to count as official on each side." The thing I'm wondering is if this counts as properly referencing the crossover, or if it's insufficient, and if it's insufficient, what would qualify as properly referencing a crossover.
