Wouldn't Dennis be far more skilled at fighting and also more physically fit? I mean if Spongebob also can survive the destruction of Bikini Bottom and Dennis could threaten him, then?

He doesn't, his best feats are of him bullying Squidward in the later episodes. Dennis sunk an already sunken ship and stomped Spongebob and Patrick.
