Hello, it is I, and we're back at it again for another Bleach intelligence revision. This time, we're actually ranking a profile with no ranking as of now, that being the depressed rich bad boy of the Soul Society, the main who made Yuta's Domain Expansion what it is, Rukia's onee-sama himself: Byakuya Kuchiki. But first, let's fix something I addressed in the last revision.
Hack And Slash
Sajin Komamura, our good boy, needs an update on his swordsmanship. As stated in the last revision, the barrier between captains and lieutenants is extremely high, obviously meaning that they hold superiority to lower ranks in the Gotei 13 in almost every regard (maybe not always intelligence as shown with Kenpachi), and this should also be reflected in their skills as swordsmen. Sajin narratively scales above master swordsmen of the likes of Ikkaku Madarame (who I have a small revision coming up for him too) and Renji Abarai. This also should fit because of the fact that there is no reason that he should be inferior to the Visard Captains to the point of being a class below them seeing as Kensei Muguruma's master swordsmanship is granted through the justification as his placement as a captain.
Now you might be thinking: "What about Mayuri?" Well, Mayuri is a special case since unlike other captains, he mostly spends his time on research, which is reflected in his fight with Toshiro when he made a device that countered attacks within a range of 606 centimeters, while implying he's not as skilled as Toshiro. Of course I could just be wrong and if I am I can also put him up to it as well.
And then you might think: "What about Yoruichi and Sui Feng?" Well, once again, both are special exceptions. Both prefer hand to hand combat as both are narratively two of the most skilled at Hakuda among captains, and Yoruichi in particular doesn't like using her Zanpakuto (It's in the novels but I'm too lazy to look for the reference). Not to mention Sui-Feng also leads Squad 2, who are trained mostly in hand to hand combat.
Big Brain Byakuya
And now, the moment you've been waiting for, Byakuya getting a ranking. Byakuya's ranking should be at Genius and as such would also grant him genius intelligence as an ability.
Why?
Well, here's why:
General Intelligence:
Byakuya's general intellect is shown mostly in his ability to remain calm in almost any situation, rarely losing his composure even in the most dangerous scenarios or the most conflicting circumstances. However, this is merely baseless, let's see some feats. First off, Byakuya had become a captain around the same time as Gin Ichimaru. This may seem like a pretty standard feat, however, it is also stated that they are around the same age, meaning Byakuya is implied to have the same prodigial capabilities as Gin. His best feat of general intellect is Shunsui Kyoraku stating that he would become the next Captain Commander in his stead if anything were to happen to him. This is by itself a pretty impressive feat, however it is heightened by the fact that both him and the previous captain commanders are geniuses themselves. Byakuya also has far less experience than the two by an utterly ridiculous margin, so him being a candidate for captain commander being more than a millenia younger than the current is quite impressive. Lastly, the databooks also places his intellect above Gin himself. You might think "Well Reaper, he only scales above Gin, what makes this impressive?" I'm glad you asked, because Toshiro ranks at the same level as Gin, and also is stated to be a genius among the Gotei 13 as well.
Combat Intelligence:
Byakuya's intelligence also stretches to his combat skills and his ability to deduce abilities and create counters to them. When it comes to his skills in battle, he is no slouch as not only is he capable of dueling Ichigo Kurosaki, the biggest prodigy in Zanjutsu in the series, but having done so at the point after he had also stalemated Kenpachi Zaraki, the captain of the combat unit of Squad 11 and one of the most dangerous swordsmen in the Soul Society. His skills with Shunpo are also quite high, being prided in it as well as being a rival to Yoruichi Shihouin, the Flash Goddess, in addition to his mastery of Kido, which reaches up to the 80s. He is able to weave Shunpo into his swordplay as shown with his technique known as Senka, Which utilizes speed and precision to land a devastating blow to the opponent's vitals. When it comes to his tactics, his fight with Zommari Rureaux is the best showing of his tactical thinking. When he had his body controlled by the Espada, he cut his leg's muscles to prevent his leg from rebelling, and when he had Rukia Kuchiki in his control threating to have her mame herself, he tricked him into thinking he was fully disarmed and used Rikujokoro to stop her from moving. He had also saved her life from her ice by using the weakest Hado to move her body. Byakuya is also extremely perceptive, as he had noted in his fight with Ichigo that his Bankai was causing him to slow down and that he wasn't used to his Bankai's power yet, and his best feat of when he noted that Zommari's abilities were similar to Kido, so he used Danku to block them as it can block any Kido 89 and under.
