Bending metal with one's hands

I have a question: How would one calculate the bending of metal with their hands?

For a long time I wanted to calc a few feats from Tex, Zagor and Fallen London in which characters bent jail bars with their bare hands (one such example here), but I don't know a good method of doing so. I am willing to study a complicated process, but I really don't know even where to start.

Well there's this but I still haven't been able to wrap my head around this or make anything out of what the **** the formulae used were.
