Battle for Dream Island Discussion Thread Again (BFDIDTA): Yeah, what? What do you want?

I thought all contestants have elasticity on their limbs
Sometimes it is just toon force. Like how Remote during BFB 1 was sitting down and grabbed Pen from off screen, which was pretty much just the way the scene was animated. If the limb extension is actually contributing to something, like how Book saved Spongy from falling during BFDIA 2, then it counts as an actual ability rather than merely toon force. Leafy extended her arm to prevent Firey from getting eliminated for a few seconds during BFB 25, so she could say goodbye.

ok but why should we say that remote doesn't have elasticity? That seems pretty clear cut to me
Her elasticity was not notable enough to be considered more than a cartoony way she was animated, while other times characters have extended their arms served a purpose.

I'm glad the upgrade for BFDI is finished. Now that we can edit profiles, I will gladly help, too. So, I think it will be much easier if contestants had a separate key for when they are using a spaceship.

cant believe they had a double elimination this episode! Absolutely wild.

Anyway, I guess we should probably be making a profile for profiley. Ignoring that for now, not too much happened this episode. TD can stick to surfaces now, Flower is apparently the first contestant who can’t pilot a spaceship so far, Four kicked some contestants to the sun (which doesn’t really change much although it was sort of implied that a typical contestant couldn’t do the same otherwise lolli would just kick flower or vice versa), and a bunch more characters should have elasticity. I still think it makes sense for all players with limbs to have elasticity, but whatever

oh yeah, also Four’s de spawning is officially and definitively a new ability which appears to be thought based death hax at worst and thought based EE at best

I'll make some adjustments to the profiles. And someone who is smart, unlike me, should calculate the combat speed feat of Four and the durability feat of Lollipop and Flower. I'm guessing Four displayed at least relativistic combat.

As for the episode itself, I really enjoyed the triumphant moment where Leafy gets immunity. A downside, there is another thing ruined about BFDI. X has never died up until this point, and it was the funniest thing ever.

I would like to point out that lava and golfball’s incinerator are both hotter than the sun since flower has died in both

Guys, A Duck is my new favourite BFDI character, I'm making a profile them right now. I'd be nice to have some Battle for Dream Island Mini representation on the VS Battles Wiki.

Jacknjellify posted a BFDI video about Among Us.
There should be an Ace Attorney, Danganronpa, or Twisted Metal themed crossover next tbh

As for Mini, note that since it takes place in a completely different continuity, the contestants there would not scale to the main series.

I don't think any of those would happen, mainly because Ace Attorney/Dangaronpa aren't that big among the BFB demographic, and Twisted Metal hasn't gotten a new installment for more than 8 years.

Four said "We brought eight friendos out of retirement", meaning they are the same recommended characters from the original show. It's a spin-off, which means it isn't automatically assumed to be non-canon.

I would want to note that Among Us (which BFDI had a crossover with) has similar elements of Ace Attorney and Danganronpa. If one series of the three (unlikely ones) I mentioned, I think Danganronpa could potentially be a better candidate to have a crossover given how it has a similar premise: a sadistic host creating a deadly event that causes death, and relationship moments, especially when you have to account that Monokuma and Announcer are very similar with each other.

Ace Attorney (and Danganronpa) could have been referenced during BFB 22 with the court scene, and that even inspired their crossover with Among Us to begin with. However, when you look deeper, there is no actual “event” that comes into play, and these kills were merely by discovery and the real life court system, not by any intentions with the host.

Twisted Metal also shares similarities with BFDI (thanks QuirkyBoy) where a sadistic host hosts deadly challenges for contestants to have a chance to win a big prize, and its basically whatever it takes to win the challenge, even through bloodshed, and comparing Four with Calypso, they are both reality warpers. Alas, Twisted Metal seems rather too mature for BFDI to have a crossover with, especially since the whole premise of BFDI is to be “hehe Looney Tunes logic and death“ while Twisted Metal is just “death”.

It seems Four should now get snap based teleportation, before Four's teleportation needed to be summoned, X should get heat manipulation because he kept the contestants at room temperature while in the oven, Four also snapped and caused the gap in the entrance to be filled, it looks like another justification for Four's "reality warping" (Glorified creation basically)

theres actually a whole lot of things we can probably look at from this episode, but I don't really have the time rn, so I'll come back to this later

The episodes about Among Us might not be canon so the information about Match might not be either even though her appearance is the same in episodes of Battle for Dream Island. Otherwise it would be very good to recalculate. I have seen other series have non-canon information such as height be used to calculate canon feats so you can be right.

I disagree with the upgrades. The Among Us video is non-canon, and Cary’s statement of Pencil’s height seems to be more reliable since he is a creator, so we would take more priority in that statement.

I'm sad that nonexisty didn't get to join on account of being worth 0 contestants, though on the other hand, 41+1+0=42, so who knows? Anyway, Two getting beat up at the end of the episode seems kinda sus if we expect Two to be relatively equal in strength to Four, however it could just as well be the case that Two is generally more hax oriented than Four is which does actually line up with what we've seen so far

Four was on screen nearly the entire episode so I'm sure he'll be there. That is the perfect transition to be noting that Four should now have fusionism on his profile. I also really wonder how a character like Four can lose control of his show.
Oh yeah, he should, it does seem combat inapplicable though, X should also get resurrection
