yea im pretty sure its contact based, either way im not sure the eaters can affect unclean ones considering they have nep type 2 (heard digimon may get nep type 2 but not now) and Incorporeality + Intangibility on top of that

also forgot how Acausality type 5 works but i heard it also makes you untouchable, and there isnt any acasual type 5 in digimon yet (tho i assume 11D absorption gets around it)

seems now it depends on if the unclean ones can kill/affect eaters

Also I've checked and it says Eaters don't seem to resist disease hax? Great Unclean One aura is pretty potent and can pretty much instantly kill and/or corrupt (and has NPI so it can affect on a conceptual and nonexistent level too scaling to Nurgle's who could infect inorganic nonexistent beings like T'zeentch as well as disease spells from Lore of Nurgle being able to infect daemons, meaning it should be able to affect and interact with Eaters)

well data in digimon isn't just data it's all of existence and nonexistence yada yada yada
eaters are a shared consciousness controlled by Mother Eater so it's gonna be a bit hard to affect that

Also Daemons themselves are usually physical projections whose true selves are already in the Realm of Chaos (currently low 1-C range away, though possibly 1-A range with the new revisions), so absorption doesn't incapacitate them whatsoever given they can regenerate their physical forms (and are sustained by the Chaos Gods)

And Nurgle's disease hax is very interesting simply because a human's soul is very much like a daemon's true self, where their soul is about the same distance from them as their actual physical body, which is why Warhammer humans are basically impossible to soul hax without the range, potency, and the NPI needed.

But when a human is infected by Nurgle's Rot, they affect on a physical, spiritual, and warp level (which is essentially a conceptual and nonexistent level of interaction), because both a human and their soul are corrupted on this level into becoming a Plaguebearer of Nurgle.

While Nurgle's Rot probably won't turn the Eater into a Plaguebearer, it does have the range to affect them and whatever their source is (possibly scales in potency too but not really important)

so right now they can't really affect their source unless they have 11-D hax or range or something like that and eaters can't affect daemons since they have NEP2 keep in mind that potential crts might make the eaters 1-A and give dark area digimon NEP2 so this match is gonna be outdated either way

With the most recent CRT, Nurgle's Rot should logically have 1-A range and potency (via being able to infect Immaterium/Warp which was established to be 1-A, and Nurglish Rot being able to affect human souls who are in the Warp and 1-A distance from their bodies).
