Hello, everybody! I am back with another CRT and this time it'll be discussing a couple of changes to Base Carnage's Power and Abilities: one of them is a downgrade to one of his established abilities (The Symbiote's Regenerationn) and an addition that for some reason was never added.
I'll start off with the new ability to make this fresh: Resistance to Fire Manipulation. One might ask why he should get this when he's a symbiote and they're weak to heat. Well, I think the answer's simple: he's already proven to be more resistant and resilient to it than an average Symbiote in the past taking gas explosions and the such. But the one supporting pillar for this resistance I believe is his Darkhold augmentations which have been stated to make him immune to sonic attacks and regular fire (which burns at about 800 degrees Celsius on average IIRC). And in the same arch he got the augmentations, he tanked a gas explosion with not much of a scratch (in Carnage Vol 2 (2016)). However, I believe this Resistance to Fire should be capped at 1,650 degrees Celsius as the Symbiote met its demise at the hands of re-entry in Web of Venom: Carnage Born (NOTE: the Symbiote was weakened from the previous arch).
Now, moving on to the Symbiote's Regenerationn. It's labelled as High, and this implies he can regenerate from being incinerated, vaporized and atomized. Big problem? The rating contradicts his heat weakness. Sure, he's resistant to heat to a certain degree, but at the end of the day, it's still his weakness. It can't regenerate from being incinerated as shown at the end of the Red Goblin arch in the Amazing Spider Man (2015) and at the beginning of Web of Venom: Carnage Born. And bonding at an atomic level with its host does not mean it can survive vaporization, let alone atomization, which he can't when he can't even survive incineration. It should be downgraded back down to Low-High as he has been shown several times regenerating from cells (Cletus' blood) and small bits (after it got blasted by the Gene Bomb in AXIS Avengers & X-Men).
I'll provide shots from the comics if necessary.
