I got notified for its creation in the first place. I was notified for OP making the thread, not anyone replying on it. I couldn't have followed it if it didn't exist before I got the notification for its creation.

And on that note, I'm getting notifications for 20 different threads I've never seen before in my life, some of which are also only the OP, and keep notifying me even when they are visibily not being followed.
