If Thanos is bloodlusted, destroying the cube might not work. The only reason Marv destroyed it was because Thanos wanted it that way. He didn't want to stay in position of power for too long.

so he can just destroy the universe, thanos is one with The Universe, so Destroy it should damage him.
Also Thanos does not start with universal fusion, but still one of his likely moves
