Badass though Anderson may be, he dies to Alucard crushing his heart while the nail's in it.
Remote heart crushing is Staz' first move, I see Alex dying to that more often than not
Hell's he gonna do with skill when the other guy attacks him with the equivalent of a death note on steroids

That'd be my bet, Alex has no answer to Heart Grip that I can think of. Been in the process of reading through Blood Lad right now, guy just has a tailor-made technique to win this.

Few more points for Staz, that Anderson's regeneration won't help. Guy handled worse with Akimu who could control all his body no matter how much it got destroyed cuz his true form was a spirit
Staz gets attacked by anti-regen weapons from enemies, traps them and absorbs instantly
Gets attacked from everywhere with portals, cuts through them all
Turns Akimu into mincemeat, explodes him, threatens to crush him whole
