If he Hogyoku regenerates from EE that's Mid-Godly, and I'm pretty sure that was never concluded/rejeceted.

Not every EE needs to erase your soul, and that's what you need Mid-Godly for. Aizen's Low-Godly IIRC comes from Mugetsu being stated as EE and Mayuri stating that nothing in Soul Society can kill Aizen (I think that includes Yama-jii's Bankai)
