not. The castle being a mirage was just a comparison with the physical properties of a mirage, however, the castle "exists". so much so that trunks claimed that the castle was connected to crack of time, and we can see that visually. most likely the construction that we see in the manga located in the crack of time, is the castle, but with a different look.
