As most know both of these former admirals threw hands for the position of Fleet Admiral. But i was wondering something, since the two fought shouldn't Akainu have resistance to Ice Manipulation and Aokiji should have resistance to heat manipulation. The two fought for ten day's straight obviously using their logia abilities ( Magma and Ice ). We gave Whitebeard Heat resistance for fighting Akainu so why shouldn't Akainu have resistance to Ice Manipulation and Aokiji have Heat resistance for fighting each other?

While we're at it i believe Marco should also have heat resistance for stopping a magma attack from Akainu ( Jinbe did the same and he got minor fire resistance from it )

I'm not even sure if Whitebeard should have heat resistance.

He got half his face burnt off for pete's sake. He was just good at taking the pain.

Aokiji lost a leg and Akainu was heavily scarred.

For me, Heat Resistance is being explicitly resistant to the effects of heat. For instance Percy Jackso and Magnus Chase were both exposed to lava, but were unharmed for the most part. In the latter case, he didn't feel it all that much.

First of all, I do not agree with the fact that Whitebeard should have Heat Resistance. He was not bothered by the passive heat yes, but that passive heat did what? Make the marine sweat and have difficulties breathing. Whitebeard should have no problems resisting that. And he got his body scorched from Akainu's attacks. So yeah, I think someone should remove that.

About Aokiji and Akainu having resistance to each others attacks, it's not enough evidence to conclude that. Just because the two fought at a stalemate, doesn't mean they have resistance to each other's attacks, it means they have equal power and stamina. It's like saying Kakashi and Guy have fought each other countless time, therefore Guy has resistance to Lightning.

Well he took multiple hits from Akainu's Magma so I think Whitebeards heat resistance is justified. I mean the heat alone produced from Magma is hot as hell and Whitebeard withstood multiple of these magma attacks . Remember he also fought Ace another Fire user. And Akainu's magma should be much hotter than normal Magma seeing as how he melted a huge hole in stone during Marineford.

As for the injuries of course they'd get scarred, they are not immune to each other's elements.

@Scarlet fair point. I'd still prefer keeping this open until Cin says something seeing as how he's the OP expert.

@Knight

If he tanked hits from Akainu without burning I would believe that. But the thing is, he lost half his face, had burn marks all over, on top of a hole through his chest. Heat Resistance would imply that he wasn't burned at all.

Yes he took multiple hits, but he was damaged by each one. And fighting two fire users doesn't mean you have Fire Resistance, especially since Ace should not be anywhere near WB's level of power.

And fighting against multiple people with similar abilities doesn't give you resistance to said abilities, not unless it was stated so. Gray has fought multiple Ice users for example and didn't develop any kind of ice resistance up until that power was given to him.

If I recall correctly WB wasn't damaged by all of them, he resisted a few of them but he was eventually fatally injured by them.

I still believe Whitebeards Heat Resistance is justified enough. That heat produced from Akainu's Magma swiftly evaporated a steel sword.

And keep in mind that Aokiji should naturally be weak against Magma due to the Devil Fruit superiority and logic. It's safe to assume both were hit by each other's elements quite a few times. But if everyone thinks other wise I'm fine with that. Still need to hear from Cin before this concludes.

IIRC Whitebeard was damaged by every attack from Akainu, maybe he withstood one or two, but as Reppuzan said, it's just his very high pain threshold, it was clear he was suffering greatly during the whole match.

And keep in mind that Aokiji should naturally be weak against Magma due to the Devil Fruit superiority and logic.
If Aokiji is naturally weak against heat, why are we talking about giving him Heat Resistance in the first place then? That makes no sense.

From taking attacks from Akainu directly who's magma is MUCH hotter than normal. Logically Aokiji should have been defeated easily but he wasn't.

Akainu's magma has the heat necessary to literally evaporate a person in one attack, evaporate steel easily and melt through massive amounts of stone. Anyhow I'll wait to hear from the OP expert please and thank you.

@Knight

If Aokiji could take a lava blast to the face without any repercussions, I would believe it. But given that he lost a leg to it, so I can't. We'll likely never know how the fight went down since it was off-screen.

Lightning has the power to inflict third-degree burns, but we don't give every character who survives a lightning attack resistance to heat and electricity. While lava (which refers to molten rock above ground) is hot enough to melt a person, it certainly isn't hot enough to instantly melt someone who can tank Island level attacks.

I'm not a One Piece expert, but I've read the entire manga from beginning to end. I know what I'm talking about here.

@Repp how did you read it from beginning to end I'm probably mistaken but isn't One Piece still going?.

From what I recall, the two admrials never fought on screen/panel so we don't know if they resisted each others attacks. Plus they both where wounded but that could just mean they each got a good shot in.

@Lord

I'm aware. But I have read every chapter in existence and will continue to do so for the foreseeable future.

My point exactly.

Oh that's what you meant, ok.

For Marco, isn't he made of fire in his Zeon form or did he resist Akainu's magma directly in his normal state.

@Lord

He took the Admirals' attacks and regenerated due to his Phoenix abilities.

I kinda expected that, I've only watched the anime (not all of it) and I seen him regenerate from the Light Admrial's Light ball attack but I didn't know if he did the same to Akainu's attacks.

Note: Due to my bad memory I some times forgot the admrials names so I sometimes say The Magma Admrial, Ice Admrial and Light Admrial since those are what their devil fruit gave them.
