Android Saga Future Trunks and Beginning of Book 2/Journey to Atlantis Arc Alex are being used and they both have access to their transformations. Both characters are High 5-A with speed equalized and SBA applied.

Alex would start by gauging his opponent's strength through physical combat before using any of his magic skills. If he needs to transform he'll start with his Pseudo-Dragon From before going into his Dragon Form if he needs more power, which will grant him access to his Feral Dragon form. If Alex manages to enter his Feral Dragon form, he'll become more violent and will use more powerful attacks.

for the base form, the difference can actually be the opposite, Base Trunks scales very, very much above that since base Frieza made that attack casually in his first form while laught, his second and third form being between 2x to 3x times stronger than the full power of the first form, Trunks scales above that

so how Alex fight?
 
Alex fighting style involves using his sword to try to get some hits and using his shield to block attacks. In his feral dragon form he tends to just use martial arts and use powerful magic skills like his Dragon Flash skill.
 
bruh I don't get notifications of this, well Trunks will go as always to end this quickly so his first move will be super saiyan (50x amp since both starts at base) go for Blitz his enemy+Sword+Mega blast of ki

Didn't Trunks flash the transformation against Mech-freiza if remember correctly? Also doesn't the Super Saiyan transformation take a bit to actually transform since I think it's not instant.

No sure, at that time he was to destroy Frieza's ego, he already has the knowledge from before of cold and Freezer also even Frieza and his father mocked him first.

Went and rewatched the scene and seems Trunks went Super Saiyan to intimidate Frieza and show that he was a threat. Trunks even mocks Frieza throughout the fight. (Though in the manga Trunks uses one of Frieza's attacks to get behind the tyrant and kills him.)
