A problem with the profile creation request thread

So, there's something that's been buging me for a while. Namely, the major state of disrepair the Profile Creation Request Thread is in.

The Profile Creation Thread is in need of serious overhaul. It's swamped by random requests and ideas, without any sort of formatting, or any rhyme or reason really. Most of the time it just equates to I want X character from Y franchise and I think they're Z tier without any sort of elaboration, reasoning, or scans. It doesn't work at all.

Antvasima has also pointed out the chance of someone taking time out of there schedule to make profiles for a verse they in all likelihood do not know, and rarely will take the time to familiarize themselves with it, and as such either needs a removal, or a major overhaul.

To clarify, given that it is extremely unlikely that anybody will have the necessary knowledge and interest to create the vast majority of all requested profiles, it might be a good idea to discontinue this particular wiki management service.

I still think we should make a creation page instead. At least with a page the requests can be pinned up there and can be a go to page for any beginners. Theres still many pages out there to be made

I agree with this. It gets people's hopes up and almost never leads to anything.

I personally think that the creation request is a bit pointless since you can just make the profile yourself. The only thing you need to worry about is the format.

This thread was abandoned for ages, and now people are putting requests without following the rules of the thread.

Honestly, if the profile hasn't been made yet, it's likely that no one wants to in the first place. Requesting doesn't do much.

dont you need to have a good grasp of them to have a decent file, even then alot of the stuff on here are sorely lacking already. Even if someone is familiar with a franchise it would've already making it and i doubt anyone is going to spend vast amount of time just to fulfill a random request. However, this could be limited by only allowing certain amount of request in a certain amount of time and have a wiki poll.

I've made a few profiles in the past, but I don't mind retiring this since it's generally a mess of responses that forces the profile makers to do research on verses they don't care about.

I've made a few profiles on there, but only verses that I'm aware of and can actually sink meaningful research into.

I can write a profile making guide with tips if necessary after my exams are all over.

What if you make a blog for a profile and you want it to be evaluated before making a page?

That would be tedious to make into a system since it would require Staff Members to review every single profile.

There is no thread for that. You usually just have to hope for people to comment on their own.
