Not only would lightning be one of the first things he’ll go for against someone with higher durability (since that’s what he goes for against dragons with the same advantage), I don’t see why it would be unreliable.

But that's the thing, he wouldn't know his opponent has extremely high durability. She's not a dragon and would most likely start with his usual CqC attacks

I highly doubt she’ll win before Ornstein can even hit her once. He’s comparable in skill to a small group of mercs that took over countries and made their own fighting style, people that can instantly use complex weapons on a glance, and people that are stated to be able to fight through the world of darks souls through great skill alone.

Can she win just by overwhelming with ap, probably. But ornstein isn’t so pathetic in comparison that he’ll just instantly die. Nor is his lightning as crappy as people are making it out to be.
