Sans-1-
SCP-173

VS

The problem is that he only does that when he's tired, until that happens, he'll will always have his eyes opened.

And considering 173 doesn't have resistance to Soul Manip, Sans easily wins.

My vote goes to Sans.

I didn't know that, I guess that Sans eventually realizes that 173 cannot do anything and he also cannot kill it.

Sans will simply stares at 173 for eternity.

Changing vote to Inconclusive.

This is sans ap. Scp 173 doesnt seem to have a calc and just seems to have feats of small building level. Unless scp 173 is close to being 9-A+ or something, sans can gradually chip away at him with danmaku attacks until he wins.

Also sans can dodge with his eyes closed. Even if he closes his eyes he has a good chance at avoiding the attack anyway. So it may be a little fairer if you unequalise speed.

Shouldn't 173 speedblitz then? I mean, Sans is Subsonic while 173 is High Hypersonic.

Also, 173 doesn't have any expressions, so it would be extremely difficult, if not impossible, for Sans to be able to predicts his attacks due to not having any form of expression.

Now that i think about it. Equalising speed in a matchup with scp 173 against someone slower is pointless and makes the matchup far less interesting...

If 173s durability isnt extremely high into 9-A to the point where sans cannot gradually chip away at 173 then yes, he can.

It's never stated that SCP-173 doesn't have a soul, and it's clearly alive. That's like saying the Weeping Angels from Doctor Who don't have souls either.

Even if Sans COULDN'T hurt SCP-173 with his physical attacks, he could build something that could, like another Gauntlet of Deadly Terror around him.

The lack of soul thing is from being a statue which grants a form of inorganic physiology, logically meaning he wouldnt have a soul.

Except that Sans'll first need to see that 173 only moves when you're not looking at it, and when he'll looks away, he'll die, unless he teleport out of the battefield, which will count as running away.

He won't stop looking at SCP-173 long enough to give him a chance to kill him, if he can even do that to someone on his tier. And considering he's dodged attacks in his sleep, there's a VERY low chance that SCP-173 could even reach him. Sans doesn't even need to teleport out of the battlefield, just 2 feat behind him and crack his head off.

With speed equal sans has much more of an advantage since he could intercept 173 much easier. Thats why its better for speed to be unequal. So sans loses if he closes his eyes without realising what would happen. While sans has the condition of gradually killing 173 over time.

It should be considered that Sans' sprites for when he "sleeps" show that his eyes aren't actually fully closed, unlike when he's seen winking. Between that, and how he immediately reacts when Frsik tries to kill him, it's not unlikely that he was faking having his eyes closed. Of course, Frisk kills him right after that, but still.

Im pretty sure its just a different animation for whenever he closes both eyes. It doesnt mean he was actually squinting. Especially when the sprite just before he closes his eyes shows him actually somewhat squinting.

I mean, if he was doing anything, he was faking it, not squinting. It definitely fits sans' attempts at trolling you during the battle. It definitely could be just a spriting mistake, but there's a pretty big difference between his eyes closed when he's winking, and when he's sleeping. I think we should at least consider that a possibility.

Also, can't Sans immobilize him via telekinesis?

The difference is a few pixels. That is the sprite for sans eyes being closed in general. His eye closing more firmly when he winks doesnt change much nor prove hes trolling.

With speed equal, yeah.

That's fair enough. Anyway, I still think Sans should take this more often than not, but not voting yet
