My Hero Academia General Discussion Thread #18

Yes, but that's not what their calculation was assuming. It was assuming a surface blast of 10 PSI, which would've destroyed the USA entirety. And I'm certain Japan would've been a crater or not even exist in that scenario. Because 10 psi is simply for the edge of the blast at the USA, it gets higher the closer you are to the center.
Understandable. Although we kinda do ignore the damage it would cause in most cases (The wolfram feat should have vaporized the island) but this specifically assumes a Omnidirectional blast.
I noticed people don't know how our Surface Explosion formula actually works.
Hell I don't understand any of it, and still got calcs accepted

The Gentleman and lovely Lady. Horikoshi doesn't miss when it comes to drip.

Let’s be real, this is just another calc that’s going to be done to death by a thousand different people for a thousand different results because of how wild but hard to understand it is.
I wonder how people calc’d GoH’s “Turning off and on all light/stars in the universe punch,” feat. Genuinely.

I believe the idea is the fact it’s saying “it was more powerful than ever before,” (meaning regardless of the fact he says this moment, it’d be stronger than anything he’s done before), but again, dude has memory loss, so it’s still not viable.
I see what you mean.

Yeah, not viable.

What makes you think he's referring for his One For All boosted explosions?

He's referring to when he jumped in front of Izuku and saved his life.
"...were like nothing I'd ever done!" That includes all his previous explosions. Including a panel of an explosion from the same fight doesn't really mean anything when the statement implies something else. At least for me.

Edit: I'm perfectly aware that Bakugo forgot he had OFA, but this is NOT a statement from Bakugo.

He doesn’t remember having OFA. So he literally can’t say if the cluster explosions are stronger than his explosions with OFA.

A narrator.
Done.

And it can be like that, anime can do whatever it wants. But, at least in the manga, Bakugo isn't the one talking.
…how does that translation matter at all to Bakugo being the one saying it.

You do realize that he doesn’t have to say “MY explosions,” he’s just commenting on how much stronger the explosions of that time he saved Deku were than other explosions from earlier points in time.

Also you’re completely ignoring context. The page right after this supposed “narrator” speaks has Bakugo directly talk about the sensation of being on death’s door. This is then followed by him flashing back to that moment when his new cluster explosions activated (from his own POV), and then they activate again.

Trying to say some random narrator suddenly decided to chime in about Bakugo’s power up instead of it being Bakugo’s own thoughts about his new power up is supremely strange.

Your entire premise relies on the idea that because the narrator didn’t explicitly use any pronouns for themselves and only talked about the explosions, that it cannot be Bakugo who is the narrator. This falls apart in the context of the scene, the statement afterwards, the framing of the panels and the anime disagreeing with you by having Bakugo be the narrator.

Your vague interpretation isn’t much else other than an attempt to claim that his “explosions from before” include the ones from when he had OFA, something Bakugo has no memory about and is not referenced in the manga. Not a great stance I’d say.

I do. The problem is that there's no evidence to affirm that this is the case.

No, I am not. Those dialogues and flashbacks have nothing to do with the statement.

You can believe the context of the scene is against my point. I'm not trying to change your point of view or propose anything (bc I'm too lazy huh), but the statement has little to do with the following panels.
