Currently Mirio has Teleportation on his profile, and I need some clarification on this right now.

There is no statement whatsoever that says he is teleported out of the ground. "Multiple objects can't occupy the same space at once, so one of them gets repelled. That means I get launched out of the ground instantaneously! That's the secret behind my warp."

Wording is very important here. He does not teleport out of the ground, he is just being launched the instant he makes himself solid. Not that he teleported above ground. Also Mirio is using the term warp because the students were calling it that, he isn't actually warping. He states he is launched out, and says he gets shot out. Characters using the term warp is common when someone moves faster than they can react or perceive.

If he actually teleported to the top, he'd have no momentum as he'd just appear above ground. But that isn't what is being shown, in the instant he becomes solid while overlapping with another object, he gets launched out of the ground. He has used this way of traveling for his advantage to propel himself out of walls at high speeds. Because he comes out of the walls with the speed he had while being pushed out of it. This can't happen with teleportation, as he would have no movement or momentum.

Case in point, we can see Mirio coming out of the ground and Chisaki is able to protect Chrono before his fist can hit him. If Mirio was actually teleporting, this scene is impossible. There can't be a period like this, since Mirio would be instantly out of the ground. This shows right here that he isn't teleporting, and instead being repelled/shot out of the ground like he said.

Overhaul is faster than teleportation?

The page on teleportation says this. "The ability to move instantaneously from one location to another without physically occupying the space in between."

This is clearly not happening when Mirio is propel out of the ground.

I have a couple disagreements with this

Regardless it’s still instantaneous (from HIS words) transportation, which by definition would be a form of teleportation

No it isn't.

"Multiple objects can't occupy the same space at once, so one of them gets repelled. That means I get launched out of the ground instantaneously! That's the secret behind my warp." He gets moving instantly, not that the moving itself is instant. He gets propel out of the ground the instant he's solid, doesn't mean he reaches the top via teleporting.

I've also provided proof of him not instantly traveling but shown to launch out of the ground like he says he does. The scene with Chisaki is impossible if he had instant movement. He his launched, he doesn't teleport. Edit: Also people use the term instant for many things that are not instant.

"Multiple objects can't occupy the same space at once, so one of them gets repelled. That means I get launched out of the ground instantaneously! That's the secret behind my warp." This line here doesn't 100% say if his movement is teleportation or not, since they both can possibly fit with this wording.

However, Mirio's "warping" is shown to have travel time. This scene is utterly impossible if he instantly arrived above ground, since there is no travel time when teleporting. So Mirio's statement above, must refer to what UchihaSlayer said. His motion starts instantly, but the motion itself is not instant.

Mirio also wouldn't be able to shoot himself or launched out of the ground like he is shown to do.

The anime also clarifies this, where Mirio is shown to be launched out of the ground.

Doesn’t MHA rely on real world physics though (for the most part)? If two objects are occupying the same space, one gets repelled instantly, which isn’t what’s in the argument here

I say this because a lot of MHA quirk explanations are logical from a scientific standpoint

Real world physics can't apply to fiction, especially when it's 100% impossible for two things to occupy the same space. Mirio's Quirk doesn't exist in real life, so it works off whatever the verse says it does. Mirio's Quirk is shown to repel him, this has a clear travel time. You cannot deny this whatsoever, he is not shown to travel between two points in a instant.

He is being propelled out of the ground as we see here, this scene is utterly impossible if he was instantly appearing above ground.

Unfortunate 😭 I used Mirio having pseudo teleportation as one of my ways to get Deku to immeasurable speed on offsite scaling

Whatever, the changes are fine I guess

I also think we need to change that Mirio’s permeation is lower on his profile than his actual combat speed. It’s clearly shown in the anime that Mirio is capable of blitzing people that can keep up with his regular combat speed (i.e Overhaul)

His Permeation speed is shown to be faster than his normal speed, it should be higher with Permeation.

However he was not blitzing Overhaul, he never actually blitz anyone who was comparable to him. Reading the fight right now, Mirio at no point propels himself at Overhaul so fast that he doesn't react to him.

Overhaul barely was even able to perceive him in multiple instances; Mirio was moving too fast for Overhaul to even fight back

Not the case at all, he was having trouble due to his intangibility. He can't fight back because he can't hit him whatsoever. Mirio was faster, but a blitz is far more than just being faster than someone.

At no point is there a moment where Mirio propels himself at Overhaul, and Overhaul isn't reacting.

"Speed Blitz is the act of one attacking their opponent before they are capable of perceiving or reacting to them. Blitzing is different than outpacing, where a character is simply faster than the other. A blitz is more like an all around outclassing in speed." Mirio outpaced Overhaul, he didn't blitz him.

Oh didn't even realize he had teleportation, yeah no it's got to go. It's just a speed amp through his powers. I figured that was obvious.

This seems pretty easily agreed on, with three staff votes as well.

Do we need more votes, or maybe wait some more? Or is it alright to apply the changes?
