Deidaras first move against Sasuke was to fly face foray towards Sasuke while throwing bombs, then to throw more bombs from where he's standing twice. He only opened up more distance after realizing Sasuke is too fast for him (who's still slower than Jiraya btw)
Jirayas opening move against Itachi and Kisame was trapping them.
Yeah, with two opponents he had been actively tracking, and trying to find and separate from Naruto and Sasuke. Not the same here.
Deidara started with range in that fight with Sasuke quicker than Jiraiya started with trapping against the akatsuki. He let Itachi pummel Sasuke and use Tsukuyomi before he decided to trap them.
Sasuke who's slower literally did exactly that and Deidara only barely dodged and then got almost blitzed again. Mind you Sasuke wanted him alive for questioning.
Again, Sasuke was better equipped to fight Deidara than Jiraiya would be. He had flight, has sharingan, lightning style to disable bombs; and he is just a much better tactician than Jiraiya has been shown to be.
Sasuke is faster and stronger than Jiraiya, because Sasuke had absorbed Orochimaru at the time. He had some of his healing jutsu, still had curse mark both stages, and was just way stronger in base than he was before or directly after.

Yes, Hebi Sasuke is stronger (Arguably much stronger) than Taka Sasuke.
So flight, sharingan, chidori, plus Sasuke is stronger and faster. For all of those reasons, Deidara had a much more difficult time just getting away from Sasuke than he’s gonna have here against Jiraiya.
Speaking of evidence, there's no evidence Deidara could fly out of Jirayas range before he gets murked either so if you want to play the "there's no evidence" game Deidara is still getting beaten up.
This is the same guy who could outspeed Gaara’s sand while in the desert; and did much of the same to Kakashi and kyuubi enhanced Naruto. Also Sasuke, who I believe was stronger than Jiraiya at the time.

No, he first got close because he wanted to see his face/sharingan (grudge against Itachi). Then, he tried to get away but Sasuke was actively stopping him from doing it.
Jirayas opening moves in-character were:
Frog stomach against Kisame.
He sat and let Itachi beat Sasuke and use Tsukuyomi before he did that.
Dark swamp against Orochimaru.
No, he opened with trying to summon Gamabunta, failing then not doing anything else until he actually could summon him.
Toad oil + hair bind against Konan.
Hair bind against Pain.
Summoning jutsu against any other summon.
Literally every option I mentioned was one of Jiraya's opening moves in at least 1 encounter while what you're mentioning for Deidara has not been an opening move in his only 1 real fight.
Except Gaara's moveset specifically uses the same objects for offense and defense. That's not going to work against Jiraya who just snipes the bombs out with long range jutsu . Only way it could work is if he got them in Jiraya's hair and detonated them
I’m not saying he’ll use literally that exact same strategy with Jiraiya. In fact, I think the opposite. I think summoning toads (which is Jiraiya’s starting move more often than not) would allow for Deidara to easily hide bombs on their giant bodies without Jiraiya or the toad themselves noticing.
Jiraiya cannot snipe the bombs out; no evidence he could do that, he doesn’t have sharingan or chidori.
What exactly implies he could? Bunta took water bullets from Shukaku and walked while Deidaras sneak attack bombs got no-sold by Sasuke multiple times.
Sasuke’s stronger than Jiraiya, also most of the time Sasuke either had to use substitution, a summon, or teleportation technique to avoid the sneak attack bombs. He did not just flat out tank them.
It took a massive bomb from C2 to even rip off Sasukes wing. Normal bombs aren't even going to tickle.
I just disagree. Deidara’s normal small bombs are what got Gaara in the end, even through his sand armor.
has enough range attacks to completely desolve or screw away the bombs and has at least 3 sumooning that can Cook Deidara s ass with ease
