Which is another reason why they're different, shikigami are part of the basic power system while curses aren't

Same reason they share identical cursed energy with the user. Shikigami are created through cursed techniques, either innate or general. They aren't similar to cursed spirits which are individuals born from massive amounts of cursed energy pooling together.

the scene is weird, because we know sukuna overtook megumis shikigami (as nue was already tamed and snake was already killed, as well as sukuna clearly saying that he overtook mahoraga from megumi)

It's mainly his lack of soul damage that kind of screws him with Mahito. Like he can definitely beat his ass, its just without Jacob's Ladder he can't permakill him.

Depends on which Yuta but I think Shinjuku Yuta has a relatively well fought win against Prime Toji.

Shinjuku Yuta will have a trouble in the beginning only against ISoH, but he'll look at SSK and "Oh, Maki has a VERY similar sword, i should watch out for that" so IMO it could go both ways
