Afaik, DMC1 guns are more OP than DMC2.

I actually have way more respect for the reboot than Netflix's adaptation.

Reboot it's wonderful, I bought it but I haven't even gotten all the trophies yet. The DMC anime is really bad, it's something like DMC 2, it makes me want to vomit, but it's bearable.

Hard to say. It was their show, Yang was their character, a character from pretty much their only valuable IP no less, verdict was overwhelmingly unpopular and called out for those reasons, so it's not that hard to believe it could play a part.
