Powerless - Role Play Thread

Had she been human, the experience would have been unbearable until die, but after years since she was cybertizated, it was more of a mental ache that echoed for a few moments before fading into a dull rumble from her body's systems.

As she approached the undamaged area, she saw a couple of signals on the panel; apparently, two unknown life forms had been detected (i.e., enemies inside the enemy ship) with a location the west area
"F*cking sh*t..."

Tosho eventually found enough space for her arms to stitch the gaping hole and allow her to move freely. She would use the same strings to operate on the screen interface, doing some basic repairs so that she can obtain a clearer visual alongside using it as another entrypoint to access CYLAM's body and contact the rest of the team.

...well, hopefully.

With Nick and Jael, their Sphere seems to detect them, it change its eye color to a blue-like, rather than a weapon, a mechanical limb it appear, it dont go for Jael or nick, but to one side of their ship, using what appears to be a blowtorch to start doing something against the ship´s metal
(nick refer this,ZoroNotZolo)
She moves further away to stay out of its effective range and try get in contact with the others

"Guys, a sphere of metal came up, I attacked it due to not knowing what was the deal about it, I got attacked back, but got away, whats the situation on your ends?"
"Same here! it seems it try to do something to our Ship, Jael and I will have to deal with it, maybe this is some system of this ship like anti-body" Nick write back to Rox before turn to Jael

"You go to the Left, I went for the right, ok?"

She gains access to the previous post, and with it, the ship’s scanning systems. Through them, she detects a single life signal that wasn’t recorded before, so is not from her team, nor from the captain’s crew. It’s likely the heat signature of whoever controls the entire ship.

The signal is located approximately three levels above, about 140 meters to the left.

"Careful Nick, it has a plasma cannon and I was lucky to have a lot of shit in between me and that blast..."

Warns him, as she then kept waiting, leaned over the wall and slides down sighing

Tosho remained still, unable to really do much but wait for help.

She does attempt again to find anything else useful within the wreckage...

She notice there are some tools in the ground, a long rope , four gears lying on the floor in a circle, and a chair overturned... perphas she can make some wheels

She also notices a couple of messages in the general chat

" Alright, thanks for told me that. Try to see if you find any ventilation system, maybe you can move through them" Nick suggest

She attempts to send a message:

(To ALL) A6: Unknown life signal detected. I'm only detecting one, but there could be more. Be careful fellas.

While she does that, she made use of the two gears to place it on her torso so she can stand up.

(waiting for black, Rox could use Nick plan to look for that person) and of course, Zoro)

While she does that, she made use of the two gears to place it on her torso so she can stand up.
After a few minutes, she managed to gain some stability. She still needed to hold onto something, but it was progress, now can move

(Respond to this btw)
After a few minutes, she managed to gain some stability. She still needed to hold onto something, but it was progress, now can move
She does something silly and re-assembled the chair using her iron wire, splitting it into vertical stripes and bundling it into a cylindrical shape wound together.

As for the silly, she would use the gears on her legs....
...human motorcycle :3

Doc simply sighed.

"Where is it? Can you give more details?"

"Oh, yeah, i forgot you are with your armor, sorry" He mentioned in the link, unaware of what she means
"Yeah...lets put it that way I guess..." she says it to herself

"I will wait here till I see sign of you and others, cant move so freely without hurting myself more then wanted"

Jael says nothing to dissent the play made by Jael's teammate. The railgun and claws were ready, even if not immediately deployed. The heavy's ears hone in to any unnatural noises whatsoever.

The Sphere continue using the blowtorch, then the ship (Tosho's) began to make a clanking sound, like metal being dragged against metal. For what it looks, the sphere was trying to separate the ships, using the blowtorch to sever the points of contact holding the two ships together in this strange collision.

Nick took cover behind a corner, twelve meters away from the sphere, while Jael was positioned just behind a crate, only ten meters from the sphere. It was time to act; they had to attack simultaneously.

Nick prepared a taser arrow before signaling Jael with his fingers. It is time, NOW

The Doctor was reading the texts he had missed when he felt the ground, no, everything around him starting to shake.

"The ship's under attack. Tosho, do you copy? Nick? Jael? Is the enemy attempting to break in? We'll be in trouble if it gets inside."

He wrote before unholstering his energy shotgun. He stood there for a moment, eyes fixed on Garret’s steady vitals. If the man had to go down, he would go down protecting someone else.

"I'll be right back. Don't wake up just yet."

He muttered under his breath while adjusting the sedation - just enough. Only then did he finally leave the medbay. The medic searched around to determine the source of the tremor.

As the doc walked out and move through the ship, he notice something, a beam is between the halfway

Likely when the clash happen some beams piercing through the ship, which mean they hold this ship with the other in same way a pencil piercing a erarser is holded

"Well it's —"

An error from her end made it impossible to decipher what she's saying, either through the damaged tech or some interference.

We're barely hanging on.

Heard ya say that. Are you sure about this, Doc? We can't afford to lose you if you go out.

Tosho continues to try and have CYLAM approach her location.

He replied while hastily making his way to that spot.

Jael fired with the railgun in unison with Nick. Should the damage dealt from their attacks not have been enough, Jael would approach, stabbing into the damaged Sphere with the adamantine claws in order to tear it apart.

"Why don't you worry about yourself first? It's not like you can help right now."
"That's the f*cking issue. I need to help you. I can care less about myself, you know that MANUS has dupli-disposables of me. I just need stable connection to GQ to request for a better body..."

“Something wasn’t right. Who in their right mind decides the best option is to attack from two opposite directions, when one side is armed with a railgun?”
Nick wondered.

The metal projectile tore through the sphere as if it were paper, obliterating the drone in an instant but that was only part of the problem. Nick and Jael had planned their ambush from opposite sides, and the railgun shot didn’t simply stop at the target. It kept moving at Mach 9, piercing everything in its path as though the walls were made of butter. The sonic barrier shattered, the thunderous crack echoing through the ship. The metallic arrow ripped through bulkhead after bulkhead, its reverberations rolling like a storm. Some heard it as a deafening roar (Tosho and those in her ship) while others, like Rox, caught only the distant rumble as the steel arrow finally stop

Nick had only a heartbeat to react when he saw Jael break cover to fire at the sphere. His eyes widened as the railgun discharged. The projectile screamed past him, so close he felt the air split. He knew he could never move faster than that. As he shifted his arm, pain flared, blood was already streaming from his
other arm. The shot had grazed him.

"I told you, Doc." Tosho audibly sighed through the speaker followed by whirring noises. "Go out there and you'll greet death with open arms..."

The Doctor stumbled and caught himself against a wall as the ship suddenly trembled more violently than before followed by that ear- splitting noise.

"What in the actual-"
"I told you, Doc." Tosho audibly sighed through the speaker followed by whirring noises. "Go out there and you'll greet death with open arms..."
...

"Can you please just be useful and tell me what that sound was? It seems to have come from...", he paused. The man's eyes slowly widened in realization.

"You've gotta be ******* kidding me!", he yelled while bolting straight to where Nick and Jael were.

"We.. we only engaged one sphere, we destroy it" Nick say into the communicator, forcing his voice to remain stable "Jael just fired a railgun here" He grits his teeth, trying to mask the falter, blood dripping from the gash where the shot tore away part of his metallic skin in his arm, pain radiating through every word.

Eventually he see a the area, in the distance there is Nick and Jael, some rest broken piece of the sphere

Before Nick could say anything, Doc rushed over and injected him with his Medigun.

"Do you hunt rabbits with a cannon, Jael? Or did you just want to make our situation even worse?", he questioned without looking at them.

Around the right wing, three levels above, about 140 meters to the left, which would be... 4 o'clock on your POV. I need to re-work on rehabilitating CYLAM's functions, she's kinda faulty at the moment. Buy me some time and I can send her a directive to help you out.

Nick took several deep breaths to calm himself as the Medigun did its work. "Oh, God.." he murmured, flexing his fingers as the pain subsided, then turned to the Doctor. "Thanks you" he said

"We need to find a way to reach the target. If I had to guess, after that shot, he or she will start moving around the ship, looking for a safer place to hide. When you done with CYLAM, try to track the location, Tosho"

Meanwhile, Rox sensed something subtle. The constant low hum of the sphere had disappeared; perhaps what had just happened on the other side of the ship had diverted its attention, which meant one thing: she could move freely

I'm trying to do both things at the same time.

She attempts to hijack the systems connecting to CYLAM's router, trying to restart her functions. Due to the damaged monitor she's using to gain access to both communicate and interact with the robot, the "boot-load" to perform causes increased chances of malfunction and further errors to be made apart from the pre-existing variables.

Sigh.

Tack. Tack. Tack.

The terminal was half-dead, two of its input relays fried beyond salvage, but Tosho's fingers found the gaps instinctively — the way a tongue finds a missing tooth. The manual interface crawled. C.Y.L.A.M crawled with it, her floating chassis drifting through the debris field outside, her scanner eyes dark and patient.

[Uploading "Wire Strings" >>>> C.Y.L.A.M]

Gravity bullets had done a number on this stretch of the ship. Beams bent outward like ribs, chunks of hull rotating slow and silent in the vacuum beyond the breach. Tosho didn't look up. She'd been threading her own Wire Strings into C.Y.L.A.M's motor architecture for the last twenty minutes — no relay, no intermediary, just clean signal — and the work had a rhythm to it that she didn't want to break.

[Overwriting Parameters....]

Her patched-up legs sat at wrong angles beneath the console. She'd stopped noticing.

tap-tap-tap, tippity-tap—

[Input: Nanomachine >>> Intermediary: Bed Nuclei for Bio-Containment >>>....]

System: Patching @everyone....

System: Updating....
System: Target stopped moving... (Doc is now 10 meters closer)
Probability of attacking 70% — exhaustion of ammunition before engaging is most prudent approach.

She read the last line twice. Then she sent the patch to the rest of them — she felt it go out, felt the faint glitch-stutter as two of the receivers hiccuped — and she switched channels.

Rrrringgg.... rrrrinnggg....

Ca-click.

"Codename A6. It's Tosho."

A pause. Then, with the particular flatness of someone choosing not to sound surprised: "Heh. Right. That's what you go by now, huh?"

Tosho's jaw tightened. "Don't."

"I wasn't doing anything."

"Talia."

"You called me." A beat. "How's the life of a fraud, Tomoyo?"

Thock. Thock. Thock.
"It's catching up." She watched C.Y.L.A.M's coordinates tick closer on the secondary screen. "Doc's out there right now because of me. Rest of them too. They don't know the half of it and when this is over, they will."

"Yeah." Talia's voice held no particular sympathy. "I said that would happen. Before you put the name on."

"I know what you said."

"You were good at what you did, Tomoyo. Archival work, data recovery — you were actually good at it. But you wanted the field posting, you wanted to be the person who mattered in the moment, and now you're—" a pause "—what are you doing right now, exactly?"

"Multitasking."

"Right." Another pause. "MANUS called me because apparently you requested a body delivered to your position. I assumed you were in a bad way, but you sound like you're typing."

"I am typing."

"Tomoyo."

"I have about three minutes before C.Y.L.A.M. reaches the hull breach and I need her parameters rewritten before she does, so—"

"Cy?" Talia went quiet. "You got Cy working again."

The android's chassis slid through the ravaged cockpit opening, scanner eyes sweeping once across Tosho, cataloguing damage, then going still. A faint hum ringing throughout as it floats frozen like a doll.

"I thought she was scrap," Talia said, slower now. "The OS was wrecked the last time anyone touched her. How did you—" Another pause. Longer. "Oh."

[Nanomachine Process: START]

"Yeah," Tosho said.

"Are you out of your mind?"

"Probably." She hit ENTER.

She begins to attach more wires onto the android as her body begins to be lifted by the robot's floating orbs, starting to recreate the torn torso from her body.

"MANUS will tear you apart if they find out."

"They won't." She kept her eyes on the monitor, on the reconstruction progress, on Talia's face in the small corner feed — the girl watching the sequence with an expression Tosho couldn't quite read. "I have data on 'that guy' that no one else has. They need me mobile more than they need me compliant. And if it goes wrong—" she exhaled "—I have a full post-mortem redaction already written."

"That's not the reassuring thing you think it is."

"I know." The Wire Strings wound tighter, cocooning her and C.Y.L.A.M together. "I know."

"I don't think she can. The crash must've messed up the ship's scanners. She said there was one unknown life signal. No idea where that is... Oh, wait.", he looked down and saw the message that she probably meant to send them 3 business days ago.

"You don't have to. You'll have time to repair CYLAM later. Right now, just tell us where the target is and we'll handle it. Do you hear me?", the man sent a voice message.
"Nick...you good?...."
